Gabriella’s POV

I sat alone in the garden, my thoughts swirling with confusion and anger. The events of the day had left me reeling, and I didn’t know what to think. But there was one thing I was sure of: Matthew was my mate.

I had felt it the moment we met, a spark of connection that had only grown stronger over time. It was a bond that could not be broken, a bond that transcended everything. else.

My heart was filled with a swirling mix of emotions: joy, peace, happiness, freedom, and longing. I was confused about what had happened, happy at myself for what I had done, proud of my actions, and happy for what might be. I felt like I was drowning in a sca of emotions, unable to make sense of it all.

As I sat there, lost in thought, I felt a presence beside me. I turned, and saw the pack doctor standing there, a concerned look on his face. “I thought I might find you here,” he said, her voice gentle. “I’m worried about you.”

I managed to smile, but it quickly faded. “I’m not sure what to do,” I said, my voice trembling. “I’ve made such a mess of things.”

The doctor placed a hand on my shoulder. “Let’s start by talking about what happened,”

he said.

The pack doctor chuckled, a knowing look in his eyes. “You look like you need some cheering up,” he said, his tone warm and compassionate. “I know it may seem silly, but maybe it’s not such a bad idea to see yourself as royalty. Perhaps it will help you feel better.”

I smiled, shaking my head. “You’re crazy,” I said, but even as I said it, I felt a sense of gratitude. I knew he was only trying to help and keep me company and I was grateful for his concern.

I laughed, the sound coming out louder than I had intended. “Royalty? Me? That’s ridiculous!” I said, but even as I said the words, I felt a sense of warmth and comfort. It was a pleasure to hear him teasing me like that, to feel like things were normal again.

unexpected, but it’s true. I found out a moment ago.”

The pack doctor’s eyes widened, a look of delight spreading across his face. “Really? That’s wonderful!” he exclaimed, his voice filled with excitement. “I must say, the pack. has been waiting for a competent Luna, someone who could handle the Alpha when he is angry. You’re perfect for the role!”

I couldn’t help but laugh, the sound echoing through the room. It felt good to hear the doctor’s words, to know that I was wanted and needed by the pack.

“The pack has seen its share of Luna’s over the years, but none of them have been as strong and capable as you will be,” the pack doctor continued, a serious expression on his face. “The last Luna was not up to the task of calming the Alpha, and it caused numerous problems for the pack. You, on the other hand, have shown a unique ability to handle him. I think you will be an excellent Luna.”

I felt my checks flush, and I ducked my head, feeling overwhelmed by his words. “Thank you,” I said, my voice soft.

“The council members were counting on the fact that the Alpha can be hotheaded at times,” the pack doctor explained. “They hoped that by triggering his anger, they could sway their side. But I don’t think they were expecting you to be such a calming influence on him. You’ve changed the dynamic in the pack, and they’re not happy about it.”

I sighed, understanding what he was saying. “They’re afraid that I’ll weaken him,” I said, a note of bitterness in my voice.

I was still speaking with the pack doctor when the doors to the room burst open, and there he was. Matthew, my mate, his b*dy bandaged and supported by a stretcher. He looked at me, his eyes blazing with a mix of emotions. Anger, pain, and something else I couldn’t quite place.

He came closer to where I was standing and held me close. I felt a jolt of electricity when Matthew’s hand closed around mine, his touch searing through me. His eyes met mine, and I saw something there that I hadn’t seen before: hope.

The pack doctor gave us a knowing look, and then left the room, giving us some privacy.

“What’s wrong?” He asked with a worried look on his face.

I looked down at the floor, unable to meet his gaze. “I just don’t know if I can do this,” I said, my voice quiet. “I’m uncertain if I’m capable of being a good Luna. I don’t want to mess up”

“Gabriella, look at me,” Matthew said, his voice gentle but firm. I slowly lifted my eyes.

I felt myself lean forward, drawn towards him like a magnet. Our l*ps met, and the world around us seemed to fade away. All I could focus on was the feeling of his mouth on mine, the taste of his breath, the warmth of his skin. It felt like I was falling, tumbling headlong into something I couldn’t control. And I would rather not stop.

We pulled apart, our eyes still locked together. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest, my mind still reeling.

At that moment, I knew I had made the right decision. I could feel the strength and support radiating from Matthew, and I knew he would be by my side no matter what. I also knew that the pack needed me, needed someone to guide them through this difficult time. And with Matthew’s help, I could do it.

The Beta’s words hung In the air like a dark cloud, and I felt my confidence falter. But before I could speak. I felt a gentle squeeze on my hand, and I turned to look at Matthew. His eyes were full of encouragement, and I knew I couldn’t give up.

“What’s the problem?” I asked, my voice strong despite the nerves in my stomach.

The Beta cleared his throat. “The women say that they do not want you as their Luna,” he said, his expression apologetic.

A few moments later, the doors opened, and the women filed into the room. They were all dressed in simple garments, and their eyes were filled with distrust and suspicion. But I stood tall, determined to show them that I could be a strong leader, someone they could count on.

Thank you for coming.” I said, my voice clear and steady. “I know there have been some concerns about my ability to lead, but I want to assure you that I am up to the task.

The women looked at me warily, but I pressed on.

I took a deep breath and addressed the women before me. “I know you have doubts about my ability to lead, but I would like to assure you that I am up to the task. I may not be as strong as your previous Luna, but I am smart, strategic, and determined. I will work hard to make this pack strong and successful, and I will always put your interests first. Likewise, I know I have a lot to prove, but I am willing to do whatever it takes to

earn your trust.”

The women looked at me, their expressions a mix of uncertainty and curiosity.

As I looked into the eyes of the women before me, I felt a sense of calm settle over me. Matthew’s encouragement gave me strength, and I know I could do this. I took another deep breath and began to speak again.

“I know that there are concerns about my ability to lead the pack, but I want to assure you that I am capable of doing so. I am new to this role, but I am a quick learner, and I am willing to put in the effort required to succeed.”
