MAVERICK

She has been missing for two weeks, I have never been so scared in my entire life, I need her safe with me. EJ, and Dylan have both been frantic trying to find her, even going out themselves trying to get her scent something to help lead us to her. I have been contacting other Alphas for assistance and they have sent trackers around their land, trying to find something, but still nothing.

Suddenly, my door bursts open and a frantic Lacey enters, practically out of breath. “Alpha, Alpha, I think I know how we can find her, please come into the conference room.” I did not question her I jumped up and followed her.

“I am sorry for the hectic way I gathered you, but we all have been trying to find something on Micaiah, I think I finally found a way.” Lacey said still trying to regain her composure and her breath. “I have been doing spells, trying to contact spirits, other witches for assistance when suddenly I finally found one. She told me about a blood contact.” “What the hell is that?” “Well Dylan let me finish. It is where I take the blood of one of her relatives and do a spell and that person will be able to contact her that way she can tell us where she is.” “Lets do this.” EJ jumped up and said, “Thank you, Lacey I hope this works.” I smiled reassuring her knowing I can sense her nerves.

She cut the palm of EJ’s hand and let his blood drip into a golden chalice. She then created a pentagram and had EJ sit in the middle holding the chalice. She then began speaking in Latin;

“De sanguine usque ad sanguinem

I quaeram te

De mente ad mentem

Loquere ad me”

“From blood to blood

I search for thee

From mind to mind

Speak to me.”

She chanted this three times when the blood began to vibrate through the chalice. We joined him in the circle when suddenly the blood played as a screen. Lacey gasped, “Malcolm.”

It wasn’t Micaiah but their brother Malcolm he was badly injured and covered in blood. He was sitting leaned up against a tree. It had some type of writing on it, it was a different language, and I could not understand. Lacey grabbed the chalice and began mumbling to herself. “Lacey what does it say, please.” I asked her to speak aloud. “It is what witches call a love blossom tree; they were created ages ago. They were made for mates; I just never knew why. The wording is faded but hold on.” She looked closer and began speaking out loud again, “Through life or death we are bound by fate, if ever lost come here to find your lost mate. Through bond and love two souls will be connected as one.”

That’s when I realized he was looking for her, she was his mate. “Lacey he is looking for you.” “Alpha, what if it is a trap by that bastard.” “We will be with you; he may know where Micaiah is and he needs a doctor.” She nodded and she had us all join hands.

Suddenly, we were in a field and before us was a bloody Malcolm breathing heavily. Lacey ran as quick as she could to him, hugging him and holding him, tears falling from her eyes. We all joined hands quickly to return home. As soon as we returned, I linked the doctor to rush to my office quickly. As he was looking over Malcolm noticing most of the blood was not his, EJ spoke, “Lacey maybe if we do the blood spell again, we can reach Micaiah this time.” Before Lacey could speak Malcolm spoke first and what he said took us all by surprise.

MALCOLM

The blood was not all mine, but I was in pain, dehydrated, half starved to death. I heard who I presume is my little brother ask lacey to do the blood spell again for Micaiah and that is when I remembered what she told me.

“It will not work.” I breathed out low, but I knew they heard as their eyes snapped to me. “What do you mean it will not work.” Another male asked. “It only works on those connected by blood.” “It will Malcolm she is our sister.” I did not have much energy left, “I know she is but not by blood, she told me herself after a few days in that hell hole after she finally woke up from being tortured.”

I heard a powerful growl I am guessing he is her mate and the Alpha. “I will explain all I as soon as I can,” I then slipped into the darkness after knowing I am back with my mate, the love of my life.
