“Why have you suddenly come back?” My uncle, Alpha Adam, questioned as soon as I entered the living room of my packhouse. A packhouse that was mine but that I had been a guest in since my parents death. 

“Today is Willow’s welcome party so I came back home,” I murmured, taking a seat on the sofa across from him. I never planned on attending it, especially with what had happened a few days ago. 

“That damn b*tch is still in the Emerald Bright Pack!” He crushed the papers in his hand in fury, “Alpha Reuben is really getting out of control. Last time he had nearly blinded me over that she–wolf! He is not honoring the marriage contract with you at all. The werewolf community world wide knows about the two of you being engaged. The two of you are together according to the entire world and our pack’s reputation will be in dirt if this marriage agreement is broken. Thankfully, there is no way Alpha Reuben can break the engagement, he will have to marry you. However, that damn bastard is really not allowing you to save any face by celebrating his mistress’s welcome party!” he growled, losing his mind. 

“I am here so that I can have peace. Please, don’t talk about this stuff for a while,” I closed my eyes and leaned back against the sofa. 

“It is not time to find peace, it’s time to expose that mistress of your fiance!” uncle snapped. 

“What do you mean?” I murmured, my eyes still closed. 

“I heard that hunter Walter Abbott is in the Emerald Bright Pack,” my uncle remarked, causing my eyes to fly open right away. 

“What about him?” I sat up straight, looking at him seriously. 

“Do you see this,” he turned his laptop around for me to look at. “I had a hacker dig into his personal life and found out that he is the she–wolf’s current lover. Alpha Reuben’s mate is nothing but a two faced b*tch. She is two–timing him!” 

I could not sit still when I saw Willow’s photos with Walter. Their relationship did not seem ordinary. Uncle sent me all the photos and the links to the articles online where they were seen exiting the hotel together late at night. I had to show it all to Reuben. I

“I just showed him the truth. Do you want to attack me like last time?” I demanded. 

He had both his hands shoved into his pockets as he spoke, “how many more insults do you need to be handed before you give up on Reuben?” 

“I don’t know,” I chuckled, wiping my tears away as I walked closer to him, “But why are you looking so disappointed in me?” I raised my brows, my voice heavy. “Wait, come to think of it, you have no right to disappoint me, Oran,” I snapped, poking an angry finger into his chest, “if there is anyone to blame at this point, it is you!” 

“Me?” the corner of his l*ps lifted into a half smile but nowhere near a full one. 

“Yes, if you had not broken up with me on my eighteenth birthday, if you had not stopped loving me, if you had not given up on me and would have only continued. loving me then I…” 

I paused abruptly when I saw Bix standing some distance away from the corner of my eye. My eyes widened and my mouth immediately snapped shut. 

In high school, I had secretly started dating Oran. He was not sure if things would work between us, so we kept it a secret. Of course, having a crush on him from the beginning I wanted to have him in every way. One day at a school function, we had S*x in the locker room. I lost my virginity to him but Bix walked in during the middle of us having S*x searching for Oran. 

I did not know what happened after that but the next day Oran broke up with me.

It had to be a lie. How could Willow be Walter’s girlfriend? She was mine, she would only ever be mine. I was her soulmate, lover, and the only man meant to be with her. How could she move on with her life so easily when time had stopped for me the second I realized she left me six years ago. How could she choose another man over her soulmate? “Your connections appear to be stronger than I thought. You got your hands on my and Willow’s private photos I can see. I understand you must be curious about us, though I would appreciate it if you keep this a secret from Willow. She would be angry with me if she discovered that I had pictures of us together. You see, she does not want to expose our relationship,” he remarked, bringing the glass up to his l*ps while his blue eyes remained fixed on my expression that was obviously not normal but growing darker by the second. 

“Care to explain what kind of a relationship you have with my wife?” My voice was low. but the demand for an answer was planned in my tone. 

“Hmmm…how should I break this to you,” his voice was almost like a mumble as he seemed to be lost in deep thought but his l*ps had soft smile like he was reliving some. precious memories while recalling something, “in simple words I love her,” he confessed not bothering to beat around the bush. 

My grip on my phone tightened to the point that I crushed it in my hand. For such a bold statement his head should have been in my fist, bleeding, and crushed instead of my phone. 

“That’s impossible,” I let out a low growl, yet kept my wolf in check and controlled, continuously reminding myself of the promise that I made to Willow. 

“Why is it impossible?” He raised his brows and glanced down at the crushed pieces of phone dropping to the ground then smiled at me, “I know you lied about Willow being your wife. You two are not married. She is single. You could be her ex boyfriend or ex lover but…”

From the time we recognise each other as soulmates we are bound to each other, from that point on marriage is an option,” I walked closer to him then added firmly, “Willow and I are one soul, made only for each other…”

“Did I say something wrong? Is that she–wolf, Ella, not your fiance? You got yourself a toy to release your rut on but when Willow does the same, you can’t bear it?” 

“What the fuck did you say you motherfucker?!” I barked, grabbing his collar. “What do you mean by “Willow does the same? What the fuck do you mean exectly?!” I demanded, yelling in his face, my wolf threatening to rip him in shreds. 

Walter remained motionless in my tight grasp as he stared deep into my eyes, “Are you seriously asking me what that means? Willow and I have been together for years. We are both consenting adults, everything we do is out of love. Do you really want me to dive into the details of our private personal moments?” 

As he spoke my mind went blank and Dex completely turned mute in my mind. Willow…she… 

My heart broke, the only reason for my existence seemed to have abandoned me.
