Chapter 12 

I asked in surprise, “What happened? Calm down.” 

“Greta and Frederic are about to have a fight. Hurry up and come here. I’ve sent you the address. Be quick,” Janessa said and hung up. 

I was confused, wondering why Greta and Frederic would get into a fight. In my eyes, Frederic wouldn’t hit a woman regardless of his bad temper. 

I had no time to think, got changed casually, and went out quickly. 

When I arrived at the bar, Frederic and Greta had been taken to a private room. Otherwise, they would have been on trending topics again with their identities. 

Seeing me, Janessa immediately drew me down beside Greta on the seat. Greta remained angry and glared at Frederic with her big eyes as if they were mortal enemies. 

Frederic was on the other side with an angrier look. In the gloomy atmosphere, Davin looked at Frederic and then me in great terror. 

“Sylvia, I’m sorry. Your friends must get it wrong. I got those girls here, and it has nothing to do with Frederic…” Davin was four years younger than Frederic and talked to me like this for the first time. 

“Nonsense! That woman’s breasts are almost on Frederic’s face, and now you tell me he doesn’t know her!” Greta yelled as she pointed at Davin. 

Davin almost cried. It was the first time that he had confronted such a fierce woman, which scared the hell out of him. 

Chapter 12 

Frederic’s cold eyes glanced over Greta and fell on me as if he was waiting for me to say something. 

I pretended not to catch his eye and comforted Greta, “It’s okay, Greta. You must think too much. It should be Davin who took those women here. Frederic doesn’t have such bad taste.” 

It sounded as if Greta’s husband had an affair. 

The room went silent. 

“Syl, are you serious?” Greta asked in surprise after a look at Janessa. 

They knew that I was having a divorce with Frederic but didn’t expect me to be so calm. 

Greta couldn’t help scolding Frederic tonight, but I turned out to be so indifferent after loving him for so many years. 

“Yes. All right, come up. Let’s go have some drinks. It’s my treat.” I held Greta’s hand and pulled Janessa up with the other hand, leaving without looking back at Frederic. 

“Frederic, they’re leaving. Sylvia…” Davin was in a daze and reminded Frederic. 

“Enough! Don’t say her name!” Frederic shouted in anger. I heard it clearly when the door was closed. 

I felt a pricking pain in my heart, which was tolerable, however. 

I wasn’t Emilia and didn’t deserve to be with him. 

Greta, Janessa, and I found three empty seats and began to drink. Janessa returned to Aroma City after a performance, so Greta asked her out for a drink. But unexpectedly, they happened to see Froderic drinking with a few women. Due to alcohol, Greta rushed over to stand

up for me. If she weren’t a woman, she might have been beaten up today. 

Greta asked me again, “Syl, do you really get over Frederic?” 

I nodded firmly. 

“Okay, I appreciate your courage. You can let the ten–year relationship go so easily!” Greta raised her cup and finished the wine. 

“You’re amazing!” Janessa also drank a toast to me.

When we were having a nice time, Janessa received her boyfriend’s call. She had the easiest relationship among the four of us and was about the same age as her boyfriend. They had met their parents and were about to get married.

Janessa immediately stood up to say goodbye, “Girls, my boyfriend is waiting for me at home, so I have to go!” 

“Are you also going back to nurse him?” Greta teased deliberately. 

“You’ve got a dirty mind!” Janessa laughed and left quickly. 

I paid the bill and said goodbye to Greta.

After returning to Maple Villa, I smelled of wine and intended to take a shower. However, just as I entered the bathroom, steam came at me, and I smelled the body wash. A figure walked out with a black towel around his waist, his upper body naked, looking perfectly tall and strong. 

I was surprised by Frederic’s sudden appearance, but I unconsciously looked him up and down. 

To be honest, I saw him naked for the first time during our five–year marriage. 

Chapter 12 

“This is my bathroom,” I reminded Frederic after a few seconds of 

silence.

After we were married, I slept in the main bedroom, while he stayed either in the guest room or the study for one night. We were now in the separate bathroom of the main bedroom. 

“Do you have a problem?” Frederic said in a calm tone as he rubbed his hair with a towel. 

“No, that’s fine with me. You’re in good shape.” I was sincere. Even if Frederic had no money, countless women would throw themselves at him for his good appearance. 

Frederic glanced at me gloomily and suddenly took two steps forward. Lhad no choice but to back away. 

The steam in the bathroom began to disperse, and I saw the strong muscles of Frederic’s chest, which were well–defined with his prominent collarbone. I couldn’t help imagining what it was like to touch it. 

But I had to control my desire. 

“All right. I also want to take a shower. You can go out.” I turned sideways to make way for Frederic. 

However, the next second, he held the back of my head with one hand, and I was pulled up to stand on tiptoe by force. Without a blink, he bent to kiss my lips, and I got a taste of mint. 

I was too shocked to have any responses and froze. 

Seeing that I didn’t react, Frederic kissed me hard. He was a good kisser, but I was a bad one, so he took an active part in the kiss. 

Frederic had a higher body temperature than me, and the kiss almost 

made me breathless. I was hot all over and sweated a lot. The atmosphere in the bathroom became more intimate. 

I hesitated about kissing him back, thinking I could take the chance to do the unfinished business in my last life. Frederic had dated other women before meeting Emilia, so it made sense that he slept with his legal wife. 

Thinking of that, I closed my eyes. 

Just as everything was about to be out of control, Frederic stopped the kiss and let go of me. The lust in his eyes had completely disappeared.
