After a little bit, Autumn had color in her cheeks and her eyes were sparkling once again. “I’m back, bitches!” She yelled out, ducking her head when our mom gave her the look.

Griffith’s POV

“Where do you think I learned those words from?” Autumn raised her head and smirked. “Plus, I’m not a little girl anymore.”

One of our dads, Blaine, threw his head back and barked out a laugh, our mom giving him the evil eye. He walked over to our mom and hugged her. “You know what Autumn said was true. You’re just upset you can’t get onto her anymore.”

“Watch it, buster, or one of my mates will be sleeping on the couch.”

“Hmm, that could be Zane,” he mused as he looked at my mom’s face. “Or not. I’m betting or not. Behave, Autumn, well, until your mom leaves,” he added, giving Autumn a cheeky smile.

“Alright. We better get home. Kid’s time to go home. You were only here to help Griffith with the dragon, so up and at ‘em’. “ The kids moaned. “You can visit later - after you call Griffith and ask if it’s okay.”

All the kids left with my mom, leaving the room almost eerily quiet. I wasn’t used to the quiet anymore. I was used to chaotic happenings and sounds. It was never quiet with Trace and Chase around. Those boys could make a saint curse.

“Do you need more sleep, Griffith,” Winter asked quietly - too quietly. She was never this quiet and I knew there was something going on, something that had her feeling as if she wasn’t enough.

I reached over and grabbed her hand, pulling her to me. “You have helped tremendously, Winter. You helped to guard Autumn’s body. You helped by praying to the Moon Goddess. I heard your prayers, Autumn. I heard everyone. I couldn’t talk or make out anyone else's voices, but yours I did,” I whispered to her, hugging her tight. “You are just as important as Autumn, okay, Winter? You saved me too.”

Winter cried against my chest as I rubbed her back. She was trying to get herself together, but it wasn't happening. I didn't tell her anything that wasn't true. “Thank you, Griffith." She shuddered. "I didn’t think I helped at all. I was a little jealous and I shouldn’t have been. I have another power too.” I moved a little, shocked about her new power. “But, I will keep it to myself. You’ll never know if it’s needed,” she whispered as she hugged me again and went back to Micah.

Micah looked at me with a ‘what the fuck’ look. “Did you break my mate's heart?”

I rolled my eyes. “No. We had a little talk. Ask her about it, but she might not want you to know. It’s nothing bad, it’s all good.”

“He’s telling the truth, Micah. I didn't feel as if I was needed. I was jealous I couldn't help. But, Griffith reminded me I was guarding Autumn and he heard every one of my prayers. See, all is well,” Winter told him as she hugged him.

“Do you need more sleep, Griffith?” Winter asked.

“Naw, I have too much to do. I’m going to get Makenzie to help me in the office. Micah, take a break, okay?” I stood up, helping Makenzie off the bed.

“Are you sure you’re up for the work? Micah asked as he watched me closely, making me feel as if I was an invalid.

“I’m completely healed and alive. Yes. I’m okay,” I answered him as I walked out of the hospital.

I would need to find more nurses and a new doctor. The people who work in the medical wing suck. I can’t believe all the things I heard about them. And, with Erol stealing money from the pack, he was essentially stealing from the hospital, too. He hired incompetent people. I wasn’t even sure the doctor was a real doctor. I needed to find their paperwork and see. I don’t want someone to treat my pack without medical knowledge or experience.

Makenzie and I walked into my office. I shut the door, locking it. I pulled her to me, kissing the shit out of her. I had her up against the wall, her legs wrapped around my hips. I thought I was going to lose her. I thought I would never see her again. She was my everything.

I watched as she stepped to the side and took off one item of clothing at a time. It was a huge turn on, not that I needed anything to be turned on, well, except my mate.
