They Found the Staff

Deragan met with Acharius in Phalanx Forest. He wanted to be further from the Manor to show me.

Acharius was more than proud to show Deragan what they’d retrieved.

“The staff.” Deragan fingered it reverently. “Take it to WaterRose immediately. Keep it wet to mask its magic from Radix.”

“I have been.” Acharius nodded. “Been dumping it in every wake I pass.” He shook out a cloth from his waist band. Clearly soaked. He draped it over the brilliant green orb. “And I’ve been keeping this over it.”

“Acharius.”

“Yes.”

“Send for Rodger. I’d have a talk with him.”

“Little Merlinus?”

“Yes.” Deragan nodded.

“Does he know we’ve found his brother?” Acharius asked curiously.

“I don’t want him to know just yet. I’ve had him on a mission.”

Acharius nodded. “I’ll send for him.”

Deragan headed back toward Rosewynn Manor.
