“What’s so intense on your mind?” Norris asked as he used a wood fork and a knife to deskin a bit of serpent laying on his plate.

“How can ye stand ta eat tha’?” Mardichi asked. His chin and one smushed cheek cradled in an open palm as he watched Norris’ vigor boredly.

Serpent is bland.

“It is rich meat. Very filling. Besides…They had no fish.”

Clearly it doesn’t matter to you what you’re putting in your mouth.

“Why don’t you eat?” Norris suggested. “I know it’s been awhile.”

“Ye know me generally eat little when me set on a hunt.”

“’Tis true.” Norris agreed. Holding each end of the snake like a bit of rib. Sinking his teeth into the middle.

“Dammit, Bast.” Mardichi clutched both his temples to stop the throbbing pain that the voice emerging in his mind elicited. “Ye know me hate that!”

Norris chewed far slower. Watching him with bug eyes.

“What do ye wan’?”

I need you to go to the Dread Hideout. Acharius needs to leave. Bast advised.

“Why don’ ye go?”

I’m currently busy. Bast’s words were coming in almost pants.

“What are ye doin’ righ’ now?” Mardichi asked suspiciously.

“You dirty Bastard!” Mardichi complained. Leaping to his feet. “You penetrate me brain pan whilst ye doin’ lovin’?”

Norris frowned dramatically. Mid-chewing as he looked at Mardichi horrified. After a moment he leaned forward and gestured to Mardichi’s chair. “Could you sit back down. People are staring.” Norris nodded.

Mardichi reluctantly slid back into his chair.

“Fine! Get out me ’ead and do yer Woman wit’out me assistance!” Mardichi barked.
