Suddenly, Maxwell came in. Camila made a silencing motion. toward him, and then they walked out.
“How come you’re back so early today?” Camila asked.
“Does that dissatisfy you?”
She recognized the displeasure in Maxwell’s tone and raised her eyebrows. “Of course not. I was just asking.”
“Why don’t you ask me if I’ve eaten?”
“You didn’t eat anything?” Only then did she realize the reason why he was upset. “If you’re coming home for dinner from now on, you’d better call in advance.”
“Can’t you call me and ask if I’m coming home for dinner?”
