Feelings through poetry
Poem 17 - Loneliness

Here in this black pit, in which nothing matters,

I sit, the empty feeling,

Hope is melting,

Having no one to talk with, thinking it’s just a myth,

Having no one to trust, going to burst,

Tears fall to the ground, making no sound.

The mound of bounds,

Drowned in regrets,

In the debt of sins,

Seeing no hope, wishing it would throw us a rope.

But there is none; the light doesn’t appear,

Darkness surrounds.

Trying to talk, but afraid I’ll lose you,

Darkness surrounds.

I take a rose, look at its petals,

Each one representing a thought:

“I shouldn’t treat you this way.”

“I may not cry about it.”

“It only triggers my fears.”

“These tears are dry.”

“Nears an end.”

“I’ll mend it.”

“I’ll send it.”

“I’ll bend it toward a better ending.”

“Looking forward to fixing this.”

“But it’s too late, mate.”

“Look at this gate.”

“We should just end it.”

“The gate to freedom.”

“Nears an end.”

“I may not cry about it.”

“I’ll mend it.”

“I tried.”

“I failed.”

“Please, forgive me...”

“I can’t forgive myself.”

Tears fall to the ground, but they make no sound.

Drowned in tears, I die.
