Chapter 375 Not Lacking Money

Taking a deep breath, I said, "I'll go check if there's a pet hospital nearby."

Daniel frowned and said, "At this hour, no pet hospitals are open."

Of course, I knew that under normal circumstances, most places would be closed at this hour. But what if there was one that was still open? So, I simply picked up my phone and started searching. There were some, but this was a tourist area, and most pet hospitals were almost five kilometers away from here.

Thinking of this, my first reaction was to prepare to take the kitten to the hospital myself. So, I put away my phone and turned to Daniel, saying, "The hotel is not far from here, you go back first, I'll take it to the hospital."

I was originally worried that Daniel would find it inconvenient to use a wheelchair, but I just saw him stand up. It seems that he can move around on his own, so I'm not worried anymore.

He didn't hand the cat to me, instead, he raised his eyebrows at me and asked, "How do you plan to go?"

"Take a taxi." I said succinctly.

He pursed his lips, said nothing, and pulled out his phone to make a call. The other end picked up immediately, and he spoke into the phone, "Bring the car over."

Then he just hung up the phone directly.

A few minutes later, a black Mercedes pulled up at the side of the

road. A crew-cut man got out of the car. Daniel looked at him and simply said, "Give me the car keys."

The man handed him the car keys, and he then shoved the car keys into my hand, saying, "Let's go."

After my mind was in a daze for a few seconds, I saw Daniel get into the passenger seat. I immediately got into the driver's seat, started the car, turned on the navigation, and headed straight for the nearest pet hospital.

The car had driven a distance when I couldn't help but glance at the buzz-cut man who had just gotten off the car through the rearview mirror. I had seen this man before, at Daniel's birthday party. He seemed to have visited Daniel in the middle of the night, looking like a bodyguard, yet not quite.

I was doubtful, but I didn't think too much about it. After all, the cat's meow in Daniel's hands was getting weaker and weaker, leaving me no room to be distracted by other thoughts.

After much difficulty in finding a pet hospital, the vet, upon seeing the completely pierced kitten, hesitated and said, "The chances of survival are slim. Are you sure you want to save it?"

I nodded, didn't say much, and directly asked him to rescue as soon as possible.

Upon seeing this, the doctor simply said, "I did my best."

Then the kitten was taken away. Waiting in the rest area, I glanced at the time, it was already almost eleven o'clock. It seemed I would have to stay up until midnight tonight.

I glanced at Daniel and said, "You go back and rest first, I'll stay here

and watch."

Daniel didn't speak, he just leisurely closed his eyes pretending to sleep. This man's temperament is really strange. Even after knowing him for so long, it seems I still haven't been able to figure him out. Forget it, let it be as it is.

After waiting for nearly two to three hours, the doctor finally came out. He removed his gloves and glasses and said, "Once the anesthesia wears off and it wakes up successfully, it should be fine. However, one of the kittens inside it was killed by the arrow, and two others died because the mother was too weak. Only one survived, but it's very small and might be difficult to keep alive. You'll need to decide how to handle this."

Daniel and I were both surprised. It was a female kitten, and she was pregnant. We were stunned for a few seconds before I said, "Can we keep her here for a few days? Once the situation stabilizes, we can take

her awe

The doctor looked at us, nodded, and agreed.

When it was time to pay, my phone had already run out of battery and shut down. I didn't have any bank cards or cash on me, so I could only look helplessly at Daniel.

He didn't react much, nor did he ask how much it cost. He directly gave all the money in the envelope to the doctor. In the end, he left a remark, "Whatever is extra, you can compensate us with cat food later." The doctor laughed so hard that his big teeth were all exposed, nodding repeatedly.

After leaving the pet hospital, I glanced at him, "You didn't even ask how much it was, you just gave them all the money in your pocket. Aren't you afraid of being ripped of?"

He gestured for me to drive, saying lightly, "I don't lack this bit of

money."
