Erin's Three
Chapter 4

Erin is only at the Fairy and Dragon Ball for a short time when she can sense Brenton is there.

"Don't look now but a sexy guy is on his way over here and is staring at ye," Cassie says to Erin.

Erin rolls her eyes and flicks her gaze at her students, Jack and Seamus. The boys are sitting with their sisters and parents. They nod and stand up from their seats as she turns to face her ex.

"What the fuck are you doing here Brenton?" Erin says coldly and Cassie is shocked.

"The same as everyone else. You look stunning, baby," Brenton says smoothly as he checks her out.

"I am not your baby, and I told you to stay the fuck away from me," Erin says crossing her arms.

"Umm Erin. Who is he?" Cassie asks looking between Erin and the 188cm blonde haired, dark blue eyed guy standing in front of them.

"This, Cassie. Is my ex-boyfriend from when I was thirteen. He broke my heart and is one of the reasons why I don't date," Erin says flatly.

"What?" Cassie says surprised.

"Come on Erin. That was fourteen years ago. I love you. Can't we just start fresh?" Brenton says taking a step closer to her.

"No Brenton, we can't. You cheated on me. You know that for us, cheating is as bad as murder."

"It was a mistake. I was only sixteen," he says trying to state his case.

"I don't care. You made a choice. You chose to have sex with not one but two girls because you couldn't wait. I told you I wasn't ready," Erin says angrily.

Jack and Seamus are standing beside Erin glaring at Brenton with their arms crossed. Cassie has fallen into a chair behind them clearly shocked by what she is hearing. The poor red haired fairy has never heard of a Fae cheating before, and here in front of her is her friend who has been cheated on by not just a human but also by a Fae, and to top it off the cheating fairy scumbag is here also.

"I am not your mate so fuck off and leave me alone," Erin says pointing to the door.

Brenton reaches out to touch Erin's hand and she steps back and puts her hands on Jack's arm. This angers Brenton. "I love you Erin. I've fucking loved you all this time. Why can't you just forgive me and move on?"

"I have moved on Brenton. I don't love you anymore," Erin says raising her voice.

"You don't mean that."

"She said leave her alone, fuckhead," Jack says protecting his teacher.

Brenton directs his attention to the two young dragons. In human form they are the same height as he is. Brenton is a halfling, his father is Fae but his mother is human and Brenton is a wingless fairy which is not uncommon in halfling fairies. Erin uses this moment to escape and heads home.

When the three guys arrive at the Ball they all halt.

"Can you smell that?" Jye asks them.

"Hmm... hibiscus and vanilla," Kingston says.

"Yeah... with caramel," Adam adds.

They look at each other. "Our mates," they say together.

As they walk inside and look around the scent is faint but they are drawn to an argument on the far side of the massive room.

"She told ye three days ago to leave her the feck alone. She's not ye mate so feck off!" Seamus shouts at Brenton.

"You wouldn't understand love, young one," Brenton says.

The smell gets a little stronger as the guys get closer.

"What the fuck is going on here?" Adam's deep voice booms.

"This feckin' eejit won't leave our teacher alone," Seamus says with his thick Irish accent.

"Brenton?" Jye says furrowing his brows.

"Jye? What the fuck are you doing here?" Brenton asks him.

"I was gonna ask you the same thing," Jye replies.

"Ye know this piece of shite?" Jack asks.

"Unfortunately yes. He's my cousin," Jye answers. "You better not be still trying to get her back," he directs to his cousin.

The young boys whip their heads to Jye.

"He came to our school three days ago confessing his love for our teacher, with a ring," Jack says.

"Let me guess she wanted nothing to do with him?" Jye responds while looking at his cousin.

"Wait," Kingston interrupts. "You said your teacher."

"Yeah," Jack answers.

"Why do you smell like..." Kingston says sniffing the boys.

"Our teacher was here and we were protecting her from this fuck head who won't take no for an answer and isn't her mate," Jack says.

"Who is your teacher?" Adam asks

"Ms Erin Hartley. She was misses but her divorce finally came through so we just call her Miss, now," Seamus says.

"Erin?" Jye, Kingston and Adam say.

"Yes Erin. As in she was Erin Bentley," Brenton says smiling and emphasising the was.

This angers Jye and he grabs his cousin by the throat. "You were fucking told to stay away from her," Jye says with anger.

"Why? Because you want her?" Brenton spits out.

"No, because you broke her fucking heart. You fucking couldn't keep your dick in your pants and cheated on her."

"She wouldn't give it up," Brenton says clutching at Jye's hand around his throat.

"She was only fucking thirteen!" Jye's voice booms as his claws begin to grow.

The elders have come over and they relieve Jye of his cousin. Brenton has broken countless Fae rules and will now be sentenced at the Fae council. Fairy rules dictate no cheating on a partner; mate or chosen. If you find your mate and you are with another person, you must not engage in any physical contact until you have spoken with your current partner. Love and respect are taken very seriously in the Fae world. Respect must be given to chosen partners, if not, your powers can be removed and you can even be given a hard labour sentence and handed over to another shifter kind.

Brenton has also breeched Fae guidelines of approaching Erin for his own gain, even after she refused him and his initial cheating saga. As he was only sixteen at the time he was told to not contact Erin ever again and was made to work for the bear shifters every day after school and on weekends for two years. A year for each girl he slept with.
