Chapter 84 

Jonathan thought that Yennefer would understand him after hearing his explanation. 

However, he was wrong. 

Yennefer gave up even faster after hearing that explanation. 

She sneered in reply, “Jonathan, you disgust me!” After she was done speaking, she took a deep breath before continuing, “Let’s go, Josie.” 

Yennefer didn’t want to meet men like Jonathan for the rest of her life. 

“Yenny, don’t go! Please, I’m begging you…” 

Yennefer completely ignored him as she left right away and entered the elevator with Josephine. Jonathan rushed out of the house in an attempt to follow her. He had said all he could, and yet Yennefer still refused to acknowledge him. He said in a heartbroken manner, “Yenny, what should I do in order to earn your forgiveness?” 

“Get a divorce with me. Never show up in front of my eyes in this lifetime, Yennefer replied coldly. 

“No! I can’t do that!” 

At that time, the elevator doors slid open. 

Jonathan still refused to let Yennefer go. “Yenny, this is all my fault! Please give me one more chance, okay?” 

He continued pleading, “I promise I’ll sever all connections with Winnie immediately and chase her out of the company! Not only that, but I also don’t want a child with her anymore! Let’s just live our lives like this…” 

“If you wish to humiliate yourself, feel free to continue making a scene, Yennefer reminded after glancing at the passersby. 

Upon hearing Yennefer’s words, Jonathan immediately released her hand. 

He was the boss of a small company, so he always kept up a good appearance in front of others.

Jonathan hid in his company just so he could avoid divorcing Yennefer. As long as she was unable to locate him, she wouldn’t be able to get out of the marriage. 

At the same time, he intended to let Yennefer use this period of time to calm down. There was a possibility that she might not demand to get a divorce once she was calm. Then, she might return to his side obediently. 

Time flew by quickly. A week had already passed, and yet the matter of the divorce was still stuck at the same point. 

Having calmed down over the past few days, Yennefer no longer thought about that matter. She had already returned to her position by then. 

Today, she looked radiant. 

As soon as Yennefer arrived at the company, the leader tracked her down and told her about a major project that had just arrived. 

He hoped that she would follow up with that project. Should she successfully secure a deal with the client, he would give her a promotion.

During this half–month period, Josephine and Ragnar resembled a couple in the honeymoon phase.

The sweet life they had right now was temporary. It was possible that Ragnar chose to stay with her because it felt new and interesting to him. 

Once he was tired of her, he’d chase her out of his life. 

That thought made Josephine feel as if something just pricked her heart. At the same time, she found it difficult to breathe. 

As she stood in front of the window and gazed at the distant horizon, her thoughts had flown to another dimension. 

After taking a shower, Ragnar came out and spotted Josephine’s slim figure. The cool breeze hiked up her dress lightly, revealing her long and slender 

calves. 

The bright moonlight illuminated her through the glass. A hint of melancholy was present within her silhouette. 

Ragnar threw away the towel in his hand as he approached Josephine slowly. 

Then, he reached out and wrapped his arms around her waist gently before placing his head on her shoulder. 

A gentle and melodious voice slowly drifted into Josephine’s ear. “What are you thinking?” 

Upon hearing the magnetic voice, Josephine gathered her thoughts as a smile appeared on her face. “It’s nothing. Everything feels like a dream to me.” 

It seemed that after living with Ragnar for a period of time, Josephine’s heart was going through a slow transformation. 

She was not sure what that was. 

However, she knew that her heart was warm. It was as if a ball of warmth had surrounded her. 

“How is this a dream?” Ragnar vaguely felt that Josephine lacked confidence in herself. 

During this period of time, he did his best to make her feel secure. 

It was his first time being this nice to a woman in over 20 years. 

Josephine replied. “It’s nothing” 

She didn’t want Ragnar to know what she was thinking. 

Ragnar gently turned Josephine around so that she could make eye contact with him. 

His deep eyes gazed into hers seriously. “Remember, Josephine. We’re already a married couple. I won’t allow you to have nonsensical thoughts.” 

He continued, “In this lifetime, I, Ragnar Levine, will only have one wife. Her name is Josephine Yeager. I’ve already tom up the marriage agreement, so you’re destined to be mine.” 

Ragnar’s words made Josephine feel very secure. 

Ragnar wasn’t one to sweet–talk anyone. He had already reached his limit after saying such nice things to Josephine. 

While she listened to Ragnar’s words, Josephine’s heart started beating wildly. 

Her heartbeat was very fast. It was as if her heart was threatening to leap out of her body. 

At that moment, Josephine felt very sweet on the inside. It was as if honey had flowed into her heart and pumped her with sweetness. 

Ragnar’s dark eyes were fixed on the beautiful woman in front of him. Under the moonlight’s illumination, her beautiful face looked flawless and perfect. 

There were many girls who were prettier than Josephine, but at that moment, Ragnar felt that she was the prettiest woman in the entire world. 

She was like an angel that descended from heaven. 

Both of them looked at each other, their reflections present in their respective pupils. 

It was a beautiful night, and they were surrounded by amazing scenery. The breeze blew around them lightly as their hearts gradually got closer to 

each other, 

Ragnar’s breathing started becoming irregular. His breaths landed on Josephine’s face, which made her feel itchy. It was as if a caterpillar was crawling 

all over her face. 

Josephine slowly closed her eyes. Her long eyelashes quivered lightly the moment her lips touched his…. 

Knock! Knock! 

Just as Ragnar and Josephine were about to take things to the next level, a barrage of knocks sounded at an Inappropriate time. 

Ragnar thought to himself, “What a killjoy!”
