Chapter 467 

Bane eventually breathed a sigh of relief when Victoria didn’t object to having Ethan 

accompany her. Even so, he was disappointed because he hadn’t counted on the fact 

that, despite her memory loss, she would still have some hazy recollection of Ethan. 

Then, Bane said, “So, let him accompany you, okay?” 

After hearing this, she pursed her 

lips and refocused her attention. She glanced at 

Ethan in front of her without displaying any obvious emotions. “Will he be following us 

all the time? Will it affect my shopping?” 

“He won’t. He’ll keep his distance, and Jessie will be your main companion.” 

When she heard those words, she finally agreed. 

When they were ready, they packed up and left. 

In the meantime, Bane was relieved that Jessie was watching over Victoria and that 

Ethan was keeping an eye on her from a distance. “Don’t stay out for too long. Come 

back early.” 

In response to his reminder, Victoria simply nodded, indicating that she understood. 

After getting into the car, Victoria’s gaze swept past Jessie, then to Ethan, who 

remained silent beside her. She also glanced at the driver in the front seat, sighing

inwardly. Initially, she had intended to go out alone, but circumstances changed, and 

there were now four people in the car, including her. With a sigh of frustration, she 

couldn’t help but feel speechless.

On the other hand, Jessie took her to a nearby shopping mall, which wasn’t too far 

away. It had everything one could ask for. Then, she said, “Miss Selwyn, before we left, 

Mr. Morison gave me a card and instructed me to buy anything you like. Take a look and 

see if there’s anything you fancy.” 

However, Victoria hadn’t even considered buying anything, and she wasn’t in the mood, 

but because Jessie suggested it, she agreed, “Sure.” To my relief, the driver’s duties end 

at the parking lot, and he doesn’t follow us into the mall, so I can shop with Jessie by 

my side while Ethan keeps his distance.

When Jessie heard this, she recalled that Bane had instructed her before they left that 

if Victoria saw something she wanted to eat along the way, she was to purchase it for 

Victoria immediately. She also needed to make a mental note of any other foods 

Victoria expressed interest in so the cook could prepare them when they returned 

home. Moreover, she knew that since Victoria didn’t seem to have much appetite, she 

needed to pay close attention to anything Victoria wanted to eat. “Okay.” She 

immediately agreed when Victoria expressed her desire to eat something. However, 

she couldn’t help but worry as she saw Victoria sitting alone and uttered, “Miss Selwyn, 

I don’t think you should be alone-” 

“I’m not alone.” Then, Victoria raised her chin toward Ethan, who stood nearby. “He’s 

here, isn’t he? So, you don’t need to worry about me.” 

Right, Mr. Hudson is still here. With him by her side, I won’t have to worry about her 

safety. At this realization, Jessie nodded and dashed off to get some food. 

As soon as she walked away, Ethan, who had maintained his distance from them, 

approached and asked, “Miss Selwyn, is there something you want to tell me?” 

On the other hand, Victoria had not expected him to ask that question. He is noticeably 

more observant than I had assumed. She paused momentarily and then said bluntly,

“I’ve lost my memory, and Bane says I’m his fiancée. Is this true?”

His brows furrowed upon hearing that. It is hard to believe Mr. Morison would say such 

a thing. However, given that she has lost her memory and that he desired her to remain 

by his side, it appears to be a reasonable approach. Besides… At this thought, he looked 

at her without answering her.

After hearing this, Ethan raised his head and continued to gaze at her with the same 

pained and conflicted expression. 

“If you have something to say, say it. Jessie should be back soon.” Seeing him struggle 

to speak, she had no choice but to remind him, indirectly urging him to speak. 

Realizing it was a rare opportunity, he lowered his head, organizing his thoughts, and

finally said, “Miss Selwyn, is it true that you don’t remember anything?” 

Victoria hesitated for a moment and didn’t immediately answer his question. Instead, 

she asked, “Should I remember something?” 

“Have you forgotten everything, Miss Selwyn? Aren’t there some important memories 

you want to hold onto?” 

When she heard this, she fell into contemplation. Important memories? I have already 

lost all of my memories, but if there is one I don’t want to forget, it’s probably an important one. Unfortunately, I can’t recall what it is, though perhaps the man before 

me does. Then, she promptly stated, “It’s true that I’ve forgotten everything, but my 

subconscious tells me that there’s something important I haven’t done yet.” After 

saying this, she paused briefly, noticing a hint of surprise on his face, and asked, “Do 

you know what it is?” 

Nonetheless, Ethan’s expression seemed conflicted, his gaze filled with pain and 

hesitation. 

In contrast to his turmoil, Victoria looked at him calmly, waiting for his response. After 

all, Bane has sent this man with me on purpose, so I should probably get ready to hear 

what he has to say. 

After a long time, just as she thought Jessie would be back by now, he finally nodded 

and said, “Yes.”

Her heart raced uncontrollably as she waited for his response to register in her mind, 

and for no apparent reason, the tension in her chest continued to build. While resisting
