We Own You, Irene.

Irene’s POV

“You are awake.” A cold and bland voice says the moment I try to look around me.

I had been awake for some minutes now, but with my wolf locked away, there was very little

I could do.

Not only did I not know where I was, I had no idea how I had gotten here.

Someone steps in my line of sight and then loosens the chain that held me in place.

Unlike the big guy from yesterday, this man is a lot smaller, but even then, the aura emanating from him makes me feel like he is even more dangerous.

When he is done untying me, he steps back.

“Let’s go. They are waiting for you.”

They?

Very quickly, the man led me between hallways and stopped before a door.

“You will have to go in yourself,” he says but doesn’t leave as he clearly wants to see me enter the room.

I take a deep breath before opening the doors, my heart pounding with a mixture of apprehension and curiosity.

I don’t know what I was expecting, but the room is empty and desolate.

I sat on one of the empty chairs and wondered why he had bought me.

What was going to come after now? And was my cursed fate going to help me get rid of him?

I jumped in my seat as the double doors swung open, and three men stepped in.

My heart skips a beat, and at the same time, a mix of sweet floral and vanilla scents floods my nostrils at their appearance.

They epitomised power and authority, radiating an intimidating aura. And from the moment they stepped into the room, every muscle and part of me tensed from their mere presence.

I had expected some type of reaction from my buyer. Some insane excitement that should belong to a man that felt buying a woman was proper.

But these three, not only do they not look at me, their faces are blank and unreadable.

Neither of them says a word as they settle in the opposite seats. All three of them. But despite just sitting there and doing nothing, I felt a deep pull and stirring from my wolf as I looked at each one of them.

Strange.

With the power-bound bracelet, my wolf should be locked away, but yet, there’s a strange tugging from it towards these men. Or one of these men.

On closer view, they looked like they were taken right from a painting. They were ridiculously good-looking.

“At least she looks decent.” One of them says, breaking the silence, and I can’t stop myself from looking at him.

His raven black hair cascaded down his broad shoulders, contrasting sharply with his piercing blue eyes.

Grumpy.

His strong jawline was clenched tight, and I could see the clear disapproval in his eyes as he looked at me. His blue eyes were strangely familiar, and I couldn’t help but remember the man I had seen in the auction room.

Was he my buyer? Disappointment rushes through me at that thought. Although he was just as good-looking as them, there was some darkness that was lurking around him that screamed ‘danger.’

I didn’t think that I wanted to deal with a man like him.

“Elton, she has been through a lot in the last two weeks. You should give her some credit.” The man in the middle says as his eyes settle on me.

His eyes, a captivating shade of amber, locked onto mine with an intensity that left me momentarily breathless. There’s a strong air of control around him, and my heart pounds against my ribcage as his gaze stays fixed on me.

“What’s going on here?” I finally ask, unable to handle their piercing gazes that were accompanied by silence.

The air in the room changed with my question, and the three of them exchanged glances and then looked back at me.

“Irene, welcome.” The man says, and I’m even more confused. Who exactly was my buyer among the three men, and what plans did he have for me?

“You both might have to cut it out. Our little mate is frightened.”

My eyes turned to the last man. He had the youngest and most relaxed appearance among the three of them.

His emerald green eyes held a mischievous glint, giving away glimpses of his playful nature.

Yet, beneath that mischievousness, I sensed a hidden layer.

But what did he say?

Mate?

“I think you are mistaken. I am a Koink.” Did they not know what type of people were sold at The Medallion? I was deemed a cursed wolf that would bring disaster everywhere I went.

The man in the middle chuckled. The sound rang loudly in the large room.

“Irene Cohan, 18 and from the Bloodhound pack. Not only are you an orphan, but you have also killed your two fated mates right before you could seal the bond with them….”

My b*dy froze fear and worry gripping my heart as the man in the middle casually read out my life history and secrets. What else did he know?

“If you know all these, why then did you buy me? Anyone that comes in close contact with me dies.” I didn’t want to sound so panicked and frightened, but knowing that they knew what I was capable of made me feel bare and helpless in front of the three men.

“Slow down, princess. We have no intention to bite.” The last and youngest man said as he leaned forward.

Before he could continue, Elton spoke up.

“Stop playing games, Noah.”

“What we want is pretty simple, Irene…” he started, his dark and brooding gaze frightened me even more.

“We bought you because we want you to be our mate.”

I resist the urge to laugh out loud.

Mate? He had to be joking.

Everyone tried hard to keep Koinks far away as they didn’t want to be affected by the curse that we carried.

And these three wanted me to be their mates?

“I can be anything you want me to be. After all, one of you bought me. But I can’t be your mate.”

Elton scoffed as he stood up, his towering figure reminding me of just how tall he was.

“We own you, Irene.” He growled, and I felt my dress sticking to my b*dy from how frightened I was.

“You don’t make the call here…” Before Elton could continue, a large burst of power shot out from the man in the middle.

Not only does Elton fall back in his seat, but even Noah’s face also has a slight frown.

“You will not talk to her in that way, Elton.” He said in a growl, and even though I didn’t know this man, I couldn’t help the slight warmth that crept through my heart.

This was the first time someone had defended me.

“Irene, like I said, we know your history and everything about you. And that is exactly why we have chosen you.”

“From today, you will be our fated mates, and we will be your fated mates.”

As he spoke, the man placed a folder on the table.

“All you have to do is sign this.”
