Jake Harding’s parents live on a Greek island where their adventure school provides a warm welcome and awesome challenges to groups of teenagers.
Fourteen-year old Jake is home from boarding school for the holidays, relaxing and enjoying windsurfing. Rob, one of the instructors, is a keen kiteboarder and introduces Jake to the sport.
Jake’s sister, Zoë, is home for two weeks from university and spending time with her good friend Selena, daughter of Spyros, who owns the village taverna. Jake and Zoë get on well, although he often teases her, as younger brothers sometimes do.
Zoë is upset when Selena is abruptly sent away to stay with her aunt in Athens. Further stressed by Jake winding her up, Zoë goes for a walk along the beach at dusk. She doesn’t return.
A thorough search that night fails to find her and Jake, feeling guilty and responsible for Zoë’s disappearance, vows to find her.
Things unexpectedly take a sinister turn. Under intense pressure to solve the biggest challenge of his life, will the adventure school kids hinder Jake or join him in his quest?
