Chapter 839 Another Chatterbox

Naturally, he couldn’t reveal to Emrys that based on his recent comment, any member of Three Sword Sects could discern that he was an outsider who had arrived here by means of a sword statutte.

After all, Emrys had said, “I feelahe mountaintop suits me better.”

Anyone bold enough to make such a statement clearly didn’t understand Sword King Mountain. In fact, uttering such words would likely invite ridicule from everyone around them.

The sword energy of Sword King Mountain that wafted around was rather unique. Starting from the latter two–thirds of the staircase, the higher one climbed, the stronger the sword energy became until it reached its peak at the very last step of the staircase.

However, upon reaching the mountain’s peak, there was no trace of any sword energy. Instead, there stood only a plain white statue of the former Sword King.

On the mountaintop, one couldn’t grasp the slightest hint of sword energy. Therefore, when Emrys declared that the peak was more suited to him, Peter gave him a peculiar look. He was convinced that Emrys didn’t understand the essence of Sword King Mountain.

This was a very simple method of identification, yet Peter deliberately chose not to mention it. Instead, he claimed that he discerned it from Emrys’s demeanor, making himself seem much more impressive.

Emrys could clearly see through Peter’s pretense of profundity. However, he chose not to call him out on it. Instead, he followed along with the man’s line of thought and asked, “Is there really any difference between my demeanor and that of you Sword Sect disciples?”

“Of course, we’re different.”

Peter shook his head and said, “We, the disciples of Three Sword Sects, due to our long- term sword practice, have already merged our own temperament with the sword aura, making us appear even more fierce and domineering. As for you…”

He gave Emrys a pretentious once–over, clicking his tongue a few times before saying, “Just average, nothing remarkable. Compared to a big guy like me, we’re as different as night and day.”

Upon hearing these words, Emrys was almost certain that this fool was spouting nonsense.

He shook his head, deciding not to continue the conversation with Peter.

However, Peter continued to ramble on. “Tigger, heed my advice. The waters of Sword King Mountain run deep. There are many things beyond your control. We, as disciples of the Sword Sect, are fortunate. We can come here every day to gain insight, but it’s different for you. Your sword statutte can only be used once. That single opportunity is all

had, so cherish it well! Tigger, are you even listening?”

Entrys was at a loss for words.

I really shouldn’t have bothered with this annoying guy. Argh, he’s another chatterbox. Hmm? Another one!

Emrys continued his ascent toward the mountain peak.

As he followed along, Peter chattered non–stop. “Tigger, why won’t you take my advice? I mean well, you know… Hey, don’t walk so fast. I’m not even done putting on a show yet!”

Upon seeing Emrys quicken his pace up the mountain, Peter’s true nature was suddenly revealed, bearing no resemblance to his previously cool demeanor.

“Sigh, some people just don’t learn until they hit a brick wall. Well, today, Tigger, I’m going to follow you to the mountain top..

see how you make a fool of yourself later!”

With a hint of resentment in his voice, Peter spoke, trailing behind Emrys as they ascended the mountain stairs step by step. His breathing grew increasingly labored, and beads of sweat covered his forehead.

The intensity of the sword energy here had already subjected him to immense pressure.

Upon glancing up at Emrys again, Peter’s small eyes suddenly narrowed intensely.

Emrys moved as if he were walking on flat ground, his strides swift and effortless. It was as if ascending Sword King Mountain was a task that posed no challenge to him.

Only then did Peter react, realizing he had been too caught up in his chatter earlier. At this moment, he became aware that this masked young man named Tigger was indeed no ordinary individual.

By the time Peter huffed and puffed his way to the top of the mountain, Emrys had already been standing there for quite some time. There was no trace of any sword energy here, only a solitary, unadorned white statue.

“Ha–ha, Tigger, you’re dumbfounded, aren’t you? I warned you that the mountain top

wasn’t a good idea, but you insisted on coming up here, not listening to me… Huff, let me catch my

breath first.”

With every ounce of strength he had left, Peter pushed himself to climb the last few steps of the mountain trail. His body was drenched in sweat, but after a grueling effort, he finally managed to reach the summit.
