Chapter 827 Hiding Something From Me

They were close to doing the deed when Ameera knocked on the door.

Ninette couldn’t help but feel a hint of resentment in her heart.

Ameera breathed a sigh of reliefand said. “Thank goodness I made it in time… Ninette, wait outside for a moment. I have some questions for Emrys.”

“Can’t those questions wait until tomorrow?” Ninette muttered quietly, but Ameera had already pushed her out and locked the door, leaving only herself and Emrys in the room.

Ninette glanced puzzledly at Sylvia, who followed her in, and asked, “Sylvia, what’s going

on with Mom?”

“I–I don’t know either.

Sylvia avoided Ninette’s gaze with guilt.

Emrys was now seething with pent–up frustration.

No man could remain calm and composed when interrupted at such a crucial moment.

Emrys even had the impulse to strangle Ameera. He sneered and said, “What’s up, Mdm. Ameera? Are you so eager to rush in here to teach me some special techniques?”

“Emrys, have you been keeping something from me?”

Ameera had no intention of joking with Emrys and went straight to the point.

At the same time, she pulled over a stool and sat down, scrutinizing Emrys with a piercing gaze. She no longer addressed him as her “good son–in–law.”

Emrys had a pretty good idea of what was going on when he saw her like this, but still said unkindly, “What am I hiding from you? You haven’t asked me anything, have you?”

Seeing that he didn’t volunteer the information, Ameera had to give him a hint, “Did something unexpected happen during your competition with Cameron in Thundercloud Marsh this afternoon?”

Indeed, this was the reason for her visit.

Emrys sneered inwardly but outwardly remained calm, saying, “It seems Sylvia has

already told you about that. You rushed over here so eagerly just to confirm whether my golden elixir field is really shattered, right?”

Ameera nodded urgently

Emrys calmly replied, “Sylvia was right. My golden elixir field is indeed shattered.”

He had never intended to hide this matter. Since Ameera had asked, Emrys didn’t mind teờing her the truth. In fact, Einrys had already sensed that Ameera was about to change her attitude.

Sure enough. Ameera’s face darkened.

However, she didn’t immediately confront Emrys. Instead, after a moment of silence, she asked. “Is it possible to refine your golden elixir field again?”

In the existing system of cultivation, once the golden elixir field was shattered, it was nearly impossible to reform it. However, Ameera refused to believe that Emrys’s future was truly ruined in such a manner.

The Ultimate Lucky One could never meet his end so easily.

There must be a turning point! That’s right. That must be it!

Ameera kept reassuring herself internally, which led her to pose this question. She sincerely hoped that Emrys would respond affirmatively that he was confident in his ability to recreate it.

Alas, Emrys simply shook his head firmly.

“I probably won’t be able to condense it again.”

This wasn’t Emrys tricking Ameera, but rather, the conclusion he arrived at after careful consideration.

The lightning in Thundercloud Marsh didn’t maliciously destroy Emrys’s golden core; it intentionally transformed his elixir field. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have solely targeted his golden elixir field, leaving the several fake elixir fields nearby completely unscathed.

Nor would Emrys’s golden elixir field be shattered while his body remained unharmed, without a single scratch.

This situation could only be explained by one thing – the transformation of his elixir field. It must have been another gift from Stein to Emrys, just like the two pearls he had given

him before.

Combined with the conversation with Ameera during dinner, Emrys came to a bold conclusion: everything Stein did was to hope that Emrys could switch his cultivation method.

Due to the constraints that were in place, the maximum stage for all practitioners here was to reach the absolute–phase of the Golden Elixir Stage. Any further breakthrough was nearly impossible unless the Mount Jacaster was reactivated and the shackles were broken.
