Chapter 807 Keep A Low Profile

Cameron felt like crying.

He really didn’t want to make a fuss about it!

As long as they kept it low–key, apart from him, Emrys, and the three girls, no one would even know they were competing,

That way, if he were to admit defeat, it wouldn’t be so embarrassing.

But now, thanks to Hollie’s loud explanation, everyone knew he was competing against Emrys. And to top it off, someone deliberately stirred up trouble, trying to get all the students from their class to come over to watch.

Wasn’t this just playing dirty?

Cameron shot Hollie a fierce glare, but she pretended not to notice.

She looked around with her head held high as a smug thought crossed her mind, You’ve been pestering me to be your middleman for these past few days. You brought all of this upon yourself, hmph

Near Thundercloud Marsh, there were already quite a few students. Upon hearing the commotion, they all flocked over to see what the excitement was about.

Even those who were originally practicing within Thundercloud Marsh, using thunder and lightning power for their cultivation, voluntarily stopped and came out to watch the competition They stepped out of their training layers, eagerly waiting to watch the upcoming contest.

Now Cameron was truly caught in a dilemma.

“Get on with it. Hurry up and finish so we can all go home!”

In a fit of frustration, Cameron reversed roles and began to urge Emrys. If they didn’t act soon, their classmates would arrive, making the situation even more embarrassing.

“As you wish!”

Emrys gave a light laugh and leaped forward. He was the first to arrive at the edge of the

Thundercloud Marsh.

On the ground, there was a wide arc of bright red, about a meter and a half wide, with orderly arranged uppercase ‘ONES‘ inside.

This was a safety measure implemented by the Cloudmist Academy’s higher–ups for the students‘ protection, deliberately made so conspicuous.

Otherwise, upon reaching the third layer, where the signs were not clear, there was a chance someone might wander into the fourth layer in a daze. They could get struck by lightning there.

Upon reaching the edge of the Thundercloud Marsh, Emrys merely glanced briefly at the red line on the ground. Without much hesitation, he strode forward into it.

The moment he crossed the red line, Emrys could distinctly feel a shift in the surrounding space, as if an additional wave of energy had emerged. It was as though an invisible pressure had descended upon him.

This was the thunder and lightning power.

Practicing under this kind of power could yield twice the results with half the effort. If one was lucky, they could even integrate a hint of the thunder and lightning’s aura into their own life energy.

The life energy, imbued with the power of thunder and lightning, was naturally stronger compared to those who practiced the same cultivation technique.

Not long after Emrys entered the first layer, Cameron followed him in with remarkable

ease.

The outer three layers didn’t have lightning strikes, so as long as they could withstand the thunder and lightning power here, there was no real danger.

Cameron had previously trained on the third layer, so he was not afraid at all.

In fact, he was quite eager and stepped into the second layer before Emrys.

The energy fluctuations on the second layer were more intense than those on the first, and the pressure had noticeably increased. However, it was all within a bearable range, nothing too terrifying.

In the blink of an eye, both of them arrived at the third layer.

While Cameron had been ahead when entering the second and third layers, as they reached the middle area of the third layer, he instinctively slowed his pace.

That was because he knew that not far ahead was the fourth layer, the boundary of the Thundercloud Marsh.

Starting from the fourth layer, there would be sporadic lightning strikes, and the power thunder and lightning would become unstable.

of

This was the reason why no one dared to practice on the fourth layer. Nobody wanted to be struck by lightning while focusing on their cultivation, turning themselves into a crispy

treat.

Cameron slowed his pace.

Out of the corner of her eye, he began to take note of Emrys’s movements.

When he saw Emrys surpassing him, he felt a twinge of joy. He waited, eager to see if Emrys dared to step into the fourth layer.

As long as Emrys didn’t dare to make a move, the two of them would end in a draw. This was something Cameron could accept.

The spectators outside also focused their attention because they knew that the first three layers held no real interest; it was only from the fourth layer onward that it truly tested one’s courage and luck.
