Chariot 3: Conception
Chapter 29 – “They found us!”

“They found us!” shouted Cai Yiu who sighted the apteral enemy ship through the magnetic passage that closed immediately after Ezekiel`s heli-ring disappeared behind them.

Cai Yiu stepped on the ascending unit and grasped it firmly with his right hand while his left hand found Flumen`s waist. Holding themselves tight against each other, the two were lifted to the Bridge.

As the two stepped on the Bridge, Chariot 3 made a sharp turn and went after her persecutors.

Captain Shoffer looked back and saw the rest of his crew jumping on their seats.

“V-Nus...” The Captain checked his readiness.

“Captain…” He replied.

Chariot 3 suddenly began to spin as fast she could. The ship then performed a second turn and positioned itself far behind the enemy craft.

At that moment, Captain Shoffer saw what he feared for. The scouter craft started to pursue the prophet’s heli-ring not much further ahead.

Nevertheless, Cai Yiu Hun was finally set for what he knew better.

“Disintegrate them all Cai Yiu.” Captain Shoffer could not have been more objective. The thirst for battle had become evidently visible in his speech.

“No need to ask me twice, Sir.” The rest of the crew had once wondered why such a skilled armory and weapons specialist had been summoned to join a mission of peace onboard an unarmed ship. They were about to find out.

Chariot 3 drastically decreased her speed.

With a quick hand gesture, Cai Yiu projected the three spherical probes towards one unique direction, the enemy craft.

The spheres were bright, flaming red colored, and moved in an interrupted straight line until the one in the middle of the formation suddenly changed its course into a vertical ascension, gaining a much greater altitude until it disappeared within the clouds.

On his heli-ring, Ezekiel sensed an external threat. He looked back and saw the dreadful craft approaching him. At that instant, knowing that only God could save his soul, Ezekiel closed his eyes and began to pray for his life.

At the same instant, the Greys` navigational system, directly connected to their brains through the sensorial panels, notified them that their craft was being engaged.

The spherical probes on both sides of the enemy craft performed an offensive approach towards the inevitable impact.

In a glimpse, the craft dramatically reduced its speed and turned to the side, dodging both spheres with incredible precision.

In a premature survival celebration, the Grey beings emitted the weirdest of the gruntings.

Unexpected, the forgotten third and last sphere emerged from above and, with no mercy, crashed against the craft, penetrating its cockpit and exiting through the hull.

The Grey scouter began to lose speed and then its altitude. The pilot that tried to regain control of the craft suddenly noticed the strong scent of blood that surrounded him, and as his eyes looked around, he found two of his crew or whatever was left from them, spread over the cabin, unrecognizable.

Desperate, as the pilot hoped for a forced landing, miles below, he felt something grab his ankle. Looking down, he saw one of his crew, still alive, thrown under the seat by the impact.

Mad with the distraction and absent of any compassion, the pilot used his foot to unleash the final stroke against what was left of his face.

The pilot then raised his head and looked ahead. The motionless expression on his face became evident with the reflection of the dodged sphere returning on his encounter on a final and inescapable attack.

With calm, Cai Yiu pressed his right thumb and index against each other.

The response was immediately. From portside and starboard side respectively, the spheres penetrated their target.

Inside the cockpit, the spheres bounced back and forth, throwing metals and body parts off the enemy craft.

The injured pilot of the craft had been defeated, almost unconscious, he looked to the side and watched his end approaching him in the form of an sphere.

Ezekiel heard the noise of the storm”.

“Did god hear my prayer?” He opened his eyes, leaned his body to the side and watched the metal falling, leaving behind the smoke that stained the skies. The enemy chariot had been destroyed.

“Yes, he did.” He answered his own question looking around, hoping to find no other threats.

The man then took a deep breath and exhaled. He set back and felt a familiar loneliness settle inside his soul, bringing memories of his daily walks by the Kebar.

The nostalgia made him wish to one day, have those walks again, but at this time, with the desire of his eyes, his beloved wife.

Steady, the heli-ring continued to fly, bringing the fresh wind against his chest. Ezekiel looked up and watched the magnificence of the helix spinning above his head, rapidly bringing him back to where he belonged, home.
