All Rey could feel was pain.

From the tip of her toenails, all the way up to her skull.

Sharp. Deep. Pain.

Was she dead?

She couldn’t force her eyes open to test out the theory.

But no. She couldn’t be.

Pain meant you were alive.

And this much pain?

It could only mean the other side wasn’t ready to welcome her yet.

Or maybe it did.

Maybe it finally did.

She thought to herself as she felt darkness slowly overtaking her body.

Soothing her mind. Washing the pain away.

She greeted it as she would greet an old friend.

Maybe it was finally time.

Time for her to die.
