When I awaken, Lyana is still asleep beside me. I curl my arm around her waist and pull her close as I gently nuzzle her hair. I splay my open palm over the slight swell of her abdomen and feel the life force of our child in her womb.

She turns in my arms to face me and presses a tender kiss to my lips.

“What shall we name her?” I ask.

She brushes the hair back from my face as she smiles. “You’re so certain it’s a girl?”

I nod. “Her life force is strong. She already reminds me of her mother.”

“You will not be upset if we do not have a boy?”

“Never. Besides, this child is the first of many. We will have more than one son and daughter.”

She laughs as I roll her beneath me, then arches a brow. “And just how many do you want, my love?”

I skim the tip of my nose alongside the bridge of hers before capturing her mouth with my own. I pull back and kiss a trail across her jaw and down the elegant curve of her neck. She is more precious to me than anything, and I am addicted to touching her.

I lift my head and allow my gaze to travel over her lovely face. “As many as my beautiful wife will give me.”

Her lips curve into a stunning smile. “I love you so much, my handsome High Elf husband.”

I cup her cheek and stare deep into her luminous golden-brown eyes. “Ashal’veh, my lovely human wife.”
