Born Almighty Warrior
Chapter 570 The Unexpected Enemy

As the hefty stalactite door gradually opened, all the warriors were greeted by a faint yet, evidently pure scent. It was beautifully refreshing and comforting. They felt as though a garden of strong energy was awaiting them behind the door.

They were all innate spiritual kings. They could sense truly powerful energy. Only something so untouched could energize them in this manner. It was obvious that the Quintessence of Heaven and Earth in this cave was of the purest and highest quality.

Everything outside the stone door was enveloped in darkness, but deep inside, there was a world of light. The cave was filled with stalactites, behind each of which was a different kind of holy and bright light. Hung from the cave's ceiling, they were continuously dripping magic water.

They walked around this damp and cold place for hours before they discovered an enormously thick column of stalactite. It had grown to touch the ground and serve as the backbone of this cave. It was a sight of raw beauty.

"Let's go inside now. The Quintessence of Heaven and Earth should be in the center of this cave," Scar suggested eagerly.

Wasting no more time, the group carefully and strategically found their way into the depths of this mysterious cavern.

"Remember what I said about seeing you again, very soon, Russell? Well, here we are, meeting each other in just six hours." Just then, they all heard a familiar voice. Ricky instantly recognized it—it was Garrett.

Following the greetings, several figures showed up out of the blue.

They were none other than Garrett, Keyon, Jim and Josiah.

"We've been waiting for you here for a long time, you know,” Garrett continued with a strange smile, looking directly at Ricky. He didn't lose eye contact.

Ricky's and his companions’ faces darkened the moment they saw these four people. He didn't respond for quite a while, clearly trying to contain his anger.

'I knew it. I knew there was some scheme behind Garrett's cunning smile. I was right about these bastards. They just wouldn't give up the Quintessence of Heaven and Earth so easily. I never expected that they would go so far as to wait here ahead of time, though. Such shameless thieves!" Ricky thought to himself full of disdain and frustration.

"Well, you're probably wondering why we're here so early, right? It's quite easy to figure, especially for you. After all, anyone would come for such a valuable treasure like the Quintessence of Heaven and Earth as soon as possible. The longer you leave it out there, the more troubles you might encounter on your way. Isn't that what happened with you as well?" Looking at Ricky's sour face, Garrett enjoyably went on teasing him. There was a triumphant smile on his face, as though he had won the treasure himself.

"Oh, I almost forgot. I want to sincerely thank you for opening the door for us with the Blood Essence Stone. Without your assistance, we wouldn't have been able to break the strong array on the stalactite door. I doubt if even a demi-spiritual emperor could deal with IT. You really are a big help, Russell!" he said.

"Josiah, you cheater! How dare you violate the agreement made by the ancestors of the three halls!" Scar snarled at Josiah when he could no longer restrain his fury. Hearing those cheeky words from them really pushed him over the edge. There was coldness in his eyes that was prepared to kill. Everyone knew that it was Josiah who leaked the location of this cave to Garrett and his men. "Agreement? I beg your pardon?” Josiah smirked with indifference. "Really, Scar, the world of martial arts is under the law of the jungle. Do you still believe in any agreements? I don't have to tell you these things. You should know that only strength and deception can have the final say here. After all, you have always followed these principles, haven't you?" Josiah went on mocking them with his lips twisting into a sneer.

"It has been seventy years. I don't have to remind you that our Spear Hall doesn't have the right to enjoy the Quintessence of Heaven and Earth for a whole bloody seventy years! Such being the case, why not help ourselves to it? It's better than watching you guys enjoy it alone, anyway." Josiah shrugged.

"Damn, you bastard!" Scar couldn't help but curse watching Josiah being this outrageously ugly.

He was well aware that there was some truth in Josiah's words, though. It was indeed a world where only the strong could be the predators, and where promises had been worn down desperately thin. Scar didn't respond this time. He knew that if his Saber Hall failed today, he would be stooping down to the level of these bastards standing in front of him. They had arranged a competition to decide the owner of the treasure. They could have any number of fights, until the loser could scramble for the treasure no more.

"If my memory serves right, you have a secret space where we could hide, right?" Scar asked Ricky via telepathy. "I will try to hold them off, while you all get to a safe place. Do you think you can make it, Ricky?" Before Ricky could answer, Scar quickly added, "If it's not too much trouble, please take the three disciples of our hall with you.” There was a hint of worry in his voice.

"Now, the Garuda tribe has revealed their true nature, they would not show any mercy to our Saber Hall. So, please, protect my disciples for me. I swear in the name of my warrior spirit that they are the most loyal men. You can trust them," Scar pleaded.

"I get it, Scar. Don't worry! They can come with me," Ricky answered without hesitation hearing Scar's plan.

With his mind put at rest, Scar turned to the enemies. He paid no attention to Josiah anymore. Instead, he looked at Garrett this time, as he knew that he was the leader and decision-maker of their team now.

"The Garuda tribe is one of the biggest and most respected tribes in the Oriental Realm. Do you really think it is appropriate to take others’ property by force? Are you sure you want to bring your entire tribe shame and misery?" Scar asked in a cold and sharp voice.

"Ahhh, so, you mean the treasure in this cave is somebody's property? Now, you're joking. It was nature that made this wonderful place. Therefore, neither the cave nor the treasures it holds belong to anyone. Everything here is a gift from the nature, and whoever is able to find is free to take it," Garrett argued, denying any misdoings Scar charged him with.

"Now, let's cut the crap. I can give you two options out of this situation and you can tell me your preference. Either you take your own lives, or we help you say goodbye to this world,”

Garrett declared with murderous intent in his laughter. He had totally dropped his act and revealed his true self. He was no longer the modest and gentle prince of a big tribe, but a spiteful, ruthless and greedy warrior who craved for all the treasures in the world.

Everyone could sense that Garrett was actually ordering them to die, as if he had already won the game.

"Ah, right. How forgetful of me! You do have a third option, Russell. I will be very happy to spare your life if you become my servant. What do you say?" Garrett offered, as if he had really forgotten this so called "good idea.”

"Thank you so much Garrett, but I'm not really used to being others’ servant. However, I will welcome anyone who is willing to serve me," Ricky replied with a calm smile. Now that he had seen what Garrett was really like, he didn't feel so angry anymore. After all, Garrett was obviously a rascal, and it was just silly to expect much out of someone like him.

"Ha-ha! I knew it. It seems like we have a lot in common. What a pity that we can't become friends!” Garrett said, shaking his head with feigned disappointment.

"Oh, I'm certain that we share some similarities, or else you wouldn't have offered me the job to serve you. No one likes a servant who doesn't understand his master, am I right?" Ricky showed no fear at all. He spoke with utter confidence.

Ricky's aura and nonchalance began bothering the enemies now. The calmer Ricky looked, the more unpredictable he appeared to be.

In fact, they started to think that they might be no match for Ricky and his companions. If the odds proved to be against them in the end, they would have to consider giving up the Quintessence of Heaven and Earth for their lives, for life was always the most precious thing. However, it turned out that not all of them were sensible enough to understand this.

"Brother, cut the bullshit. Why are we talking to them? Let's just kill them and leave with our treasure. I will deal with that Ridge myself this time!" Keyon shouted in a cold voice as a disturbing fatal intent rose from within him.

"I have many defeated foes, but none of them were as shameless as you! You really want to die here today, huh?" Soar talked back flatly hearing Keyon's provocative words.

"After you!" Keyon snapped and made a leap for Soar instantly.

The next instant, both of them were attacking each other with countless powerful tricks that shook the ground, produced flying sparks and eventually, resulted in a storm.

Jim didn't stop Keyon from acting impulsively. He was not very concerned as he was planning to keep a close watch on how things would unfold. If, by chance, Keyon won the battle, it would save many troubles that followed. If he lost, then Jim would take command and kill the beast himself. He had it all planned.

"Let me get this straight for you, Garrett. I know you have two completed spiritual kings on your side, but one of them will surely die if you mean to start a fight with me," Scar threatened when he saw that his enemies were serious about the fight. He wanted them to back off.

But both Jim and Josiah only smiled at his warning, with no panic or fear on their faces.

Scar and Ricky put on grave murderous expressions, too. Something didn't feel quite right here. Both of them could sense it.

"Wake up, Scar, for your own sake!" Josiah said with complacence. "Honestly, you were right about one thing—if you're going to fight with me and Jim, I might have to die with you.

But what do you think will happen if we have another completed spiritual king join the game? Do you still think I would go to hell with you, Scar?"

Whoosh!

As soon as Josiah finished talking, a golden figure magically appeared in the stalactite cave.
