Tracy couldn’t help but think to herself, “What does winning an award mean compared to becoming the mistress of a prestigious family?” 

She had been participating in various competitions all these years. It was all for the recognition. It could help her gain more leverage. 

She pursed her lips and put on a humble demeanor. Then she said, “That’s right. Hard work pays off. My design won an 

award.” 

Naturally. Tracy wouldn’t tell Miley that her grandmother had just sent her a new message. 

“Tracy, you’re truly outstanding. Despite your privileged background, you still have such talent,” Miley said. And her expression was filled with envy. 

Tracy smiled with appreciation. 

Her eyes glimmered for a moment. Then she sighed and said, “But what’s the use? If only 1 had known that William would be so stubborn, I would never have agreed to participate in this competition.” 

“Well. Men are all the same. They’re all shallow and obsessed with appearances. Tracy, don’t get mad. To be honest, the woman William is going on a blind date with is quite attractive,” Miley said. Fearing Tracy’s anger, she quickly added, “Of course, her charm and elegance are far from yours. After all, you are from a wealthy family, while she’s just a country girl. But men always crave something new…” 

Tracy suddenly reached out and held Miley’s hand. Then she said, “So, Miley, I can’t just sit around and wait for things to happen.” 

“What are you planning to do then? Maybe you should talk to William and sort things out, Miley suggested. 

Tracy shook her head. “He’s furious. I’ve tried reaching out to him several times after returning to the country. But he completely ignored me.” 

Miley sighed and then asked, “Why is this man so stubborn?” 

Then Tracy said, “I’ve been in a relationship with William for six years. I can say that my entire youth was devoted to him. He learned to be gentle, caring, and romantic because of me, but now another woman has taken away all of that. Miley, would you be willing to accept this if you were in my shoes?” 

“Of course not. But what can you do if William ignores you?” 

“Miley, I’m willing to take risks,” Tracy said with determination in her eyes. 

Miley immediately lowered her voice and asked, “Tracy, what do you plan to do?” 

“Miley, you are my good friend. You have to help me,” Tracy said. She firmly held Miley’s hand. 

“Of course. As long as I can be of assistance, I will help you.” 

“I understand William. Once we have a physical relationship, he will have to take responsibility for me, Tracy said. 

Miley widened her eyes in disbelief. Then she asked, “What are you planning to do?” 

Tracy motioned with her finger toward Miley.

She had been busy caring for her father recently, so she dressed casually to move faster. 

William squatted in front of Vanessa and massaged her feet. 

Vanessa felt embarrassed and immediately looked to the side. 

William had already started massaging her calves. 

“It’s okay. You don’t have to. I’m fine,” Vanessa said immediately. 

“You don’t wear high heels often, so I’m helping you relax your calf muscles. Otherwise, your feet can easily hurt, William explained. 

Vanessa just stared at William. 

“What’s wrong?” William asked while massaging her legs. 

“Marrying you is my blessing.” Vanessa said. 

A smile appeared on William’s lips as he replied, “Marrying you is my blessing too.” 

Initially, he thought her greatest strengths were filial piety, kindness, and resilience. 

She came from a slightly less privileged background. William thought he might have needed a considerable amount of time to help her adjust and integrate into his circle. 

However, he didn’t expect her to exceed his expectations by so much. 

She accompanied him at events like this without any hint of stage fright. And Vanessa’s graceful demeanor was no less than that of a well–bred heiress accustomed to such occasions. 

Jackson transferred a portion of the Foster family’s assets to Lantrie City. So he was also working hard to get to know people in the business world this night. 

While greeting someone, he looked up and saw William massaging Vanessa’s legs while Vanessa looked at William. 

Suddenly, Jackson felt irritated. 

Subconsciously, he reached up and loosened his tie. 

“Jackson, what’s wrong?” Elena asked. She noticed Vanessa before Jackson did. 

She also noticed Jackson’s action of loosening his tie.

Elena squinted her eyes. Then she turned around and headed towards the restroom. She glanced over at Vanessa. And her eyes were flashing with malicious intent. 

After William helped Vanessa massage her legs for a while, he stood up and asked, “Do you need to go to the restroom?” 

“Yes. Vanessa replied. 

After having a few glasses of red wine, Vanessa also needed to use the restroom. 

William looked at Vanessa with a smile. Then he took her hand and led her towards the restroom. 

As Tracy saw William stand up, she was afraid that William would leave. 

When she saw them heading toward the restroom, she breathed a sigh of relief. 

She immediately took out a spare phone from her bag. Then she sent a text message to urge the other party. [Are you here yet?] 

Then the reply came back. [Almost there.] 

In less than three minutes, a waiter approached Tracy, carrying a tray. He handed her a drink and a small paper package. Then he lowered his voice and said, “The item is inside.” 

Tracy quickly took the drink and the small paper package. She squeezed the paper package in the palm of her hand.

After the waiter left. Tracy turned to Miley and said, “Miley, we’ll proceed with the plan later.” 

“Okay.” Miley immediately responded. 

Tracy looked around and then turned around. She quickly opened the small paper package. 

The lighting was dim. But she could see three small dark red pills inside the package. 

The pills were tiny. They were said to dissolve instantly in water. 

Moreover, the wine was red, so the pills would not be noticeable when mixed in. 

She would personally handle it later. And she would put the pills in William’s glass. 

Then Miley would engage Vanessa, keeping her occupied. 

Afterward. Tracy would assist William in returning to the room to rest. 

She didn’t believe William would reject her advances if he had been affected by the pills. 

At that time, Miley would bring Vanessa to witness the scene. 

Then William and Vanessa’s marriage would end, whether they wanted it or not. 

Besides, not many people knew about their marriage. So they could quietly obtain a divorce certificate. Then Tracy could marry William openly.
