When Josie was escorted into the mansion by Dexter's staff, everyone treated her with great respect.

Dexter's gaze was fixed on the girl playing on the carpet. "Is she still my daughter if she doesn't even deserve these little things?"

"Dexter, I never said I would let her acknowledge you," Josie said seriously.

"Nevertheless, I am her biological father. During these hundred days, we must live as a married couple."

"It's merely a transaction," Josie said, devoid of any compassion.

Dexter felt the anguish in his heart, yet he refrained from uttering a single word in response.
