Guadalupe woke up feeling different. Like the events of two days ago never happened. It certainly felt like it never happened; her neck was free of hand-prints when she managed to glance at herself in the mirror yesterday.

She had rid her phone of the tracking app Yohan had installed, deleted the few social media accounts she had, and all the contacts in her phone, apart from Charlie, Jamie, Keon, Lance and Tara. The next step was changing her number; but that was for another time.

Another difference Guadalupe noticed was that she no longer felt dead and empty inside, nor did she feel the pent-up anger she had towards her family. It was gone, and they were like a distant memory to her now. She didn’t expect to begin her healing so soon, but it felt like she was already there.

After Nox had bitten her, her body changed. Her senses seemed to have improved by the tenfold, and in her eyes, her naked body actually looked... nice.

There was also definitely someone residing in her brain now.

Guadalupe was used to her own mental voice, and even named it Rosa, but this voice was absolutely not her own. It was the same voice that nudged her towards getting herself a seat on Nox’s face last night, and is the same voice cheering him on as he tongued her pussy at 8 in the morning.

And as she lay there, quivering and spent, with Nox kissing his way up her body, Guadalupe reached out to them. “Yeah, ma’am. We need to have a chat.”

A few seconds passed before she heard a chuckle.

“Whatever you say. You’re the boss.”

Guadalupe sighed. Well, that was easy.

Nox’s lips on hers brought her back to reality. “Where’d you go, bella?”

“There’s someone in my head.” Guadalupe murmured as Nox pecked her lips. He paused, raising his head. “Already?”

“Wait, what?” Guadalupe stared at him in shock, and Nox laughed. “I marked you, bella.” He said in-between chuckles, and Guadalupe waved her hand. “And?”

"And, marking you as a human, means that you’re going to transition. You’re going to become one of us. I thought Roccio would have told you this.” Nox rolled on his side, pulling Guadalupe closer to him.

“He most certainly did not. I’m gonna go harass him.” She said, and attempted to get up. Nox tightened his arms around her. “Stay for a little longer, won’t you?” He pressed his lips to her shoulder, and trailed his fingers up her arm.

“What, so you could go down on me again?” Guadalupe asked skeptically, and Nox hummed. “Yes, precisely.”

Guadalupe snorted, then broke into a laugh, and Nox chuckled beside her. “Alright, alright. I’ll let you go harass my Gamma. But, if he tries anything funny, just scream for me.” He released her, and sat up.

“Oh, you would like it if I screamed for you, wouldn’t you?” Guadalupe murmured under her breath as she rose from the bed, then she found herself flat on her back again with golden eyes staring her down.

“Don’t make me change my mind about waiting, bambina.” His chest rumbled as he leaned in and nipped her bottom lip. Guadalupe’s new friend was panting.

“Let him take me! Oh, Gods...”

She could almost see their eyes rolling back. She wondered if they were golden like Zev’s.

“I can see I’m going to have a lot of trouble controlling you around him.”

She tuned back into reality when Zev nipped at her lip again. “Right, yes. Won’t happen again.” Guadalupe wheezed, and the wolf growled lowly, shifting slightly to the side. Guadalupe took that as an opening to escape, and she scrambled away from him, locking herself in the bathroom.

She could hear his rumbling laughter from the other side of the door. Guadalupe walked to the mirror with her tongue poking her cheek in a futile attempt to stop smiling.

She studied her reflection. There were slight, yet noticeable differences. Her skin was free from acne scars, her eyes looked brighter, her lips looked fuller. She looked almost... unreal.

Her eyes flashed gold, and she stumbled back, almost tripping over the bathmat. “Holy shit.” She wheezed, placing a hand against her chest. With her heart pounding, Guadalupe slowly approached the mirror again and leaned closer to it.

Hazel flashed to gold and back, and Guadalupe swallowed a shout.

“You said you wanted to talk?”

Guadalupe exhaled, staring at her reflection in shock. “What-- what’s your name?”

“Aiko.”

Guadalupe smiled brightly. “It’s so nice to meet you, Aiko. I love your name.”

Guadalupe felt Aiko smile. ”Thanks, Lupe.”

“Lupe?” Guadalupe tilted her head at her reflection, a smile still on her face.

“Yup.” Aiko sang, popping the ‘p’. Guadalupe smiled and nodded. And that was the end of their chat. Guadalupe went on with preparing herself to go harass Jamie, and hopefully Keon as well.

She ran away from Nox and his grasping hands, into the closet to pull on clothes, then dashed out the door and down the stairs. She could hear his laughter and quickly approaching footsteps behind her.

Guadalupe spun in a panicked circle, looking for a place to hide away from him. She could hear Aiko laughing in glee.

“Let him catch us, Lupe. The sex will be mind-blowing.”

“Is sex all you think about?” Guadalupe asked, her eyes still searching.

“Until I'm mated? Yes. After that will be mated sex and pups.” Aiko deadpanned, and Guadalupe nearly growled. Her head whipped to the staircase as she heard footfall. Nox stood at the top of the stairs, smirking devilishly. Her heart dropped to her feet, and Aiko squealed excitedly.

Guadalupe was frozen in her spot as Nox slowly descended the stairs, his eyes never leaving hers. By the time the tip of his shoes touched hers, Guadalupe was a quivering mess.

“Gods I hope he takes us right here on the floor.”

“Good grief, Aiko.” Guadalupe groaned, gulping as Nox leaned down. Before anything could happen, a warning howl filled the air, followed by a chorus of similar howls. Nox stiffened, and let out a deadly growl.

Jamie burst through the front door, his eyes darting around wildly before they landed on her and Nox. “Vampires.” Jamie hissed, then approached them with superhuman speed, latching onto Guadalupe’s arm.

“I’ll take her somewhere safe, then come help you kill those leeches.” Jamie and Nox stared at each other for a few seconds before Nox gave a single nod. He looked at Guadalupe, grabbing her face in his hands and kissed her deeply.

James looked away uncomfortably, slowly releasing his grip on Guadalupe. Kingston growled irritably in his head.

“Go with Roccio, and don’t leave until either of us come back for you, okay?” Nox commanded gently, and Guadalupe nodded. The sudden shift of the atmosphere rendered her speechless. Nox kissed her again, then nodded to Jamie and was out the door not a minute later.

Guadalupe looked up at her best friend worriedly, and his eyes softened. “It’ll be okay, Ada. We won’t let anything happen to you.”

Guadalupe scoffed. “Yeah, I know that. But what if something happens to you? What will I do then?”
