At some point during the night,

I woke up wrapped in Kael's embrace. I had this dying need for some water. My throat felt dry and my entire body was burning up. It didn't help having Kael's large arm draped over my stomach. I didn't want to wake him up, but I desperately needed some water.

Kael began to stir while I tried to fidget my way out of his tight hold. Slowly he's eyes begin to open.

"Sorry," I whisper in the dark. " I didn't mean to wake you, I just really need some water." Kael immediately stretches over and turns on the light. My eyes take a second to adjust to the light.

"You okay?" He asks as he sits up.

"I really need water." I tell him. My body was drenched with sweat. Kael takes one good look at me as if on alert. He's hand immediately shoots to my forehead.

"Fuck Marisela," he hisses, " your burning up."

"I know, I just need some water." I try to reassure him. Kael looks at me wearily before quickly getting up and pouring me a glass of water. As soon as he comes back to the bed I grab the glass right out of his hand instantly gulp down the water in one breath.

"Marisela, I think we should call the doctor." He tells me. I freeze at his words.

No, then that means my heat is starting up again.

"Do you think that my heat is doing this?" I ask him. Kael has the nerve to look away shamefully. I wanted to slap him so hard right now.

"Look the doctor did say a few days." He tries to defend.

"It's only been two." I glare at him. My body starts to heat up again, only this time, it's starts to hurt just a little. The pain growing with each passing minute.
