Chapter Twenty-Six

The building was buzzing with nerves as it was almost time to leave, I had watched from the front entrance, pacing, making sure that the few vampires that were out there were watching me as I began our plan.

Make them think I was going to give myself up to Yusif.

“Serena…What are you doing out here?” Calvin comes outside giving me a sly nod as a signal that the others were ready to go, the plan was to start.

“This is my fault, if I just give myself in, this all stops!” I growl as I head towards the border as I notice the bright red eyes come closer, listening in as I thought they would.

“You can’t seriously be thinking of going to him!” Calvin shouts at me loudly.

“I won’t have the packs risk their lives for me, I’m going Calvin and there is nothing you can do to stop me!” I shout as I near the border, vampires coming out through the trees as I see the others ready to rush to my aid.

“Yusif wants the girl, when she comes out, we grab her,” I hear one hiss.

“It’s working, time to amp it up,” I link to the others.

“We’re ready,” Lucien says back.

“Don’t abandon them! Don’t do this!” Calvin shouts as my foot hits the border and I shift turning as I walk through the border howling as vampires flit to my side.

“Serena!” Lucien shouts as he, Zane, David, Liv, and Tony make as much commotion to get to me as possible as we fight the team of vampires surrounding me now.

I had underestimated how many there were hiding in the trees though as I was surrounded by around thirty as they scraped at my flesh.

“Serena!” Zane leaps to my side bowling over a huge group as Lucien follows closely ripping them to shreds.

“Are they out?!” I link to Dad.

“Nearly! There were a few hidden in the trees around here!” He says back.

A vampire punches me straight in the muzzle as I yelp before glaring at it and ripping its hand from its arm as he screams, blood gushing from the stump before Zane finishes him off for me.

“They’re heading towards the back of the building!” Liv says as she and David take off after a group that was heading away from us.

“Don’t fucking bet on it,” I growl angrily as I rush into action pushing myself hard as I rip the heads off of every vampire I come across as a few more wolves join us to help.

“We’re out!” Quinn links to me.

“Get back inside!” I order as the others begin to back up into the protected border as I’m the last left. But just before I get in a vampire flits up behind me, grabbing me by the tail as it swings me hard away as I hit a tree with a yelp, eyes glaring at me as it comes for me…Lyndsey…

“I always wondered what would kill you, I never thought it would be me,” She laughs.

“Once a bitch always a bitch,” I growl standing, ready to pounce.

“I’m gonna kill you, you worthless piece of shit!” She shrills as she comes towards me but before she even gets to me an arm has gone through her chest from behind, her heart in their hands as she looks in shock behind her before falling to the ground.

“You always were a jumped-up brat,” Tony grumbles as I rush to his side and we head back to the base.

“Thank you,” I say to him as he gives me a small smile.

“She might be related by blood, but she wasn’t family…You are,” He smiles as I shift and hug him.

“Let’s finish this Uncle Tony,” I wink as he laughs.

“I like the sound of that,” He grins.

“Serena…Are you hurt?” Liv asks in a panic.

“I’m fine. Are the Luna’s and hunters ready?” I ask.

“They are all geared up and ready to leave,” Oliver says.

“Well then, it looks like it’s nearly time to go,” I sigh as I walk quickly indoors, supplies had been put in place for the flurry of casualties, Carla was hugging Daniel tightly as her mother and father were darting about to prepare. Jeremy would be staying here with a team in case vampires got through our ranks and to the base.

“Carla, Daniel, it’s time,” I call out.

“I love you,” Daniel says to her as I gulp in the tears from my eyes as I see multiple mated partners kiss their loved ones.

“Serena, before we do this, I wanted to say how proud I am of you, you’ve been so brave, you’re powerful, beautiful, caring and you will become one of the most loved Alpha’s we have ever known. Your tale will be told for years to come when we finish this. You come back to me you understand? You get yourself home to me and your mother, we love you Serena” He says hugging me as I feel two more pairs of arms join in as Mum and Brianna hug me tightly.

“I love you guys, we’re going to get through this,” I kiss them all on the cheek.

“It’s time, Quinn is nearly there,” Dad says.

“Where’s Lucien?” I ask.

“Over there,” Mum points as I give them all a final hug before racing off to him as he notices me coming and I jump into his arms.

“Take care of my Dad Lucien,” I mutter in his ear.

“Always, but you take care of yourself, trust in your pack and get back home, we’ll be waiting for you cupcake,” Lucien kisses my forehead.

“If…If I don’t…If I don’t make it back, you make sure you take care of that girl and her boy, understood? If you fuck it up I’m coming to haunt you,” I smirk as he chuckles.

“You’re making it back and you can kick my ass yourself if I screw it up,” He laughs.

“Just promise me you’ll take care,” I gulp.

“I promise cupcake,” He says hugging me tightly.

“See you on the other side then,” I nodded taking a deep breath as I head towards the front entrance that my pack would be leaving from.

“Are you ready?” Calvin asks, he had decided he would join us personally, he would be riding in a huge armoured vehicle with a few other hunters so if we had any major casualties they could take them in for us while giving covering fire.

“Not in the slightest,” I shake my head.

“Serena! Were you leaving without saying goodbye to me?!” Carla growls jumping on me.

“I came in earlier too, but you were with Daniel,” I smile.

“Rock the battlefield and get your arses back here, love you sister,” She says as she hugs me tightly.

“Don’t stress yourself too much, I want my niece in peak condition when we come home right?” I smirk.

“I’ll do my best, as long as you all come home,” She sighs looking to Daniel who has shifted, waiting with his brother.

“I’ll get them home,” I nod.

“Serena! We’ve got to go now!” Oliver shouts.

“Be safe, I love you, sis,” I kiss Carla’s cheek as a tear rolls down her face.

“Amethyst Pack RULES!” She shouts as I shift and howl loudly as the pack joins me.

“Are you ready?!” I howl out.

“Yeah!” They roar back.

Pauline stands beside me as she nods.

“Stay together, stay strong, we are one! No one is left behind, we win this as one, we fight as one, we are not just a pack, we are family! Let’s go!” I howl as I lead my pack out of the base as the truck follows behind us, dodging through the trees with a little difficulty but luckily it managed as we darted through the trees.

“Luna’s in position,” Talia links.

“We’re in position,” Quinn follows as my own pack creep through the trees on the last leg of the trip.

“Baldo pack in position,” Dad sounds.

“Amethyst in position,” I say as I peer through the trees, vampires were flooding the streets, I could see the café in the distance, burnt out completely, the town was destroyed.

“On four send out your vervain grenades,” Calvin says through the little earpieces he had clipped to the alpha’s. Pauline had even managed to make a spell that he could hear us link a mind link for a short amount of time, just long enough for the battle.

“One…Two…Three…Four…NOW!” He shouts and that’s when the battle began.
