My eyes were open, but I was still looking into pitch blackness. I tried to move, but there was limited room in whatever I was in, so was the air. I pushed my hands up, looking for a way to escape. My hands were met with wood, it was all around me. Panic started to set in, making my breathing accelerate. I shifted back and forth, hoping to bump into anything that would set me free. I reached out using my vision, trying to locate where I was. I was underground buried four feet beneath dirt. Why? Why was I down here? Where was Enzo?

Two things occurred to me suddenly. Even though I was in this box on my back, I wasn't uncomfortable as I should have been. My wings, they were gone. What happened to my wings?

Second thing I remembered dying. Jannod had snapped my neck. But I was alive, and buried. The burying makes sense now. How long have I been down here? How am I breathing again?

All these thoughts ran through my head at once, but the most urgent was how to get out of here. I needed to get to Enzo.

Taking a deep breath, I flung my head forward. "Ow! Shit!" Terrible idea. Now I was stuck with a pounding headache. Ok Valentina you need to use your head, just not literally. I needed to break out of this box, but how? Then what? It'll start filling with dirt and there was a chance I wouldn't make it out. But hey it wouldn't be the first time I died, right?

My head didn't work and I could barely move my legs, so kicking wasn't an option. I bent my arm, feeling the wood against my elbow. This could work, it'll hurt but it'll work.

Taking a deep breath, I rammed my elbow into the side. A hiss left my lips from the sting. Oh this was going to be so painful, but it had to be done. I repeatedly slammed my elbow into the box until I heard a satisfying crack, then rammed it more.

Dirt started pouring in. Once I created a hole big enough I stuck my arm through, destroying the top part of the coffin. More dirt rushed in causing me to panic. A mouthful got into my mouth, gross. Now it was time to start digging.

I almost cried in relief when I felt the air hit my finger tips. But I wasn't free yet. Bursting through the dirt I spit out several chunks, inhaling the fresh air. I'll never take advantage of fresh air again.

Pulling myself out I dropped on the ground, breathing heavily. Digging yourself out of your grave was a lot of work. Much more than I thought it'd be. Movies make it look so easy.

A low growl made me sit up. My eyes widened on the Beast, perched on my headstone. He jumped down advancing toward me, saliva dripping from his mouth. He looked absolutely menacing, I crawled back in fear. When I said I needed to find Enzo I didn't mean his Beast. Why was he still a beast? Was I dead shorter than I thought?

Whatever the case was, I was now faced to face with something out of my nightmares.
