Brandi's POV

I smiled as I watched Byron play around with our now 3yr old son Mason. The sight of them wrestling and giggling as they rolled around in the grass together made my heart swell with so much love. These two were my reasons for living. I sat down on the steps in front of our house, as I thought about that very first day when I came face to face with my one true love.

Our journey wasn't an easy one, and the man I had once called Dad, had really threatened our future. But, my love for Byron had given me enough strength to escape from my room after I had been locked up, to go look for him. Not really knowing exactly where he was, but also knowing I was heading in the right direction. I didn't know how I had known, but I did. Byron had explained to me later that it had been because of his mark. The mark led me to him, it would always lead me to him.

We had left my home town that night. The rest of his pack staying behind to tie up any lose ends as we headed out. Within a month, we had found a beautiful property, filled with enough acres to build houses for the whole pack. Byron and I had married here after the first house, ours, had been built, underneath the wooden arch covered in a lush green vine spotted with small white flowers that now stood as an entry into their yard.

I smiled as I remembered that day. I wore a flowing white dress, flat white sandals and my hair down, the same white flowers from the arch twisted through my curls. Byron had looked so handsome, dressed in a white buttoned down top, black pants with a smart, but sensible, pair of shoes. They promised to love one another unconditionally that day, and even to this day, that vow has remained. When I fell pregnant with Mason, it had been touch and go at the beginning, my human body slightly struggling with the wolf pup's rapidly growing body.

Byron had been my rock the whole time. Never leaving my side, always making sure I had everything I needed. I knew he was struggling with the thought of losing his kitten, his child, or even both, but he surprised me with how strong he remained right up until the day I gave birth. When he held Mason in his arms for the very first time, the tears fell freely from his eyes, relieving all the stress that had built up over the months.

Byron looked up and noticed me, smiling as he waved. I giggled and waved back. He bent down to whisper something in Mason's ear, sending the boy skipping off towards the pack beta Rand's house. He then made his way over to me, sitting down next to me, taking my hand in his. I looked up into his beautiful eyes and smiled.

Byron's POV

I squeezed my kitten's hand firmly, wondering what she was thinking to make her smile so much. My other hand sliding over her swollen belly, chuckling as I felt the kick of our unborn daughter. She was due any day now, it was just a matter of playing the waiting game. As I glanced down at my beautiful kitten, my mind went back to her first pregnancy.

The pack's doctor had told them there was a chance that Brandi might not survive being pregnant with a wolf pup, and also a chance they would lose the pup. Or, in the worst case scenario, both my kitten, and the pup. It broke my heart to envision any of those scenarios, and I knew I had to be strong for my kitten. So, I was. Made sure she had complete bed rest, with me always by her side. Made sure she ate regularly, and also was there to bathe her every night.

I didn't let myself relax until I held Mason in my arms for the very first time. The stress lifting from my shoulders as I looked into those sweet brown eyes that he got from his mother. I bawled like a baby that day, our family now plus one. My heart swelled with so much love for my newborn son and my beautiful kitten, I was afraid it was going to burst.

"What has got my kitten smiling like that huh?" I chuckled.

"You. Us. Our little family." She sighed.

I pressed my lips against hers, kissing her softly. She moaned against my lips as she kissed me back, wrapping her arms around me, squeezing me tightly. I pulled away and rested my forehead against hers.

"That makes me smile too kitten. Thinking about that. And, pretty soon, we will have more to smile about." I whispered as I rubbed her belly.

She covered my hand with hers, entwining her fingers with mine as she smiled at me.

"I'm so happy I bumped into you that day at the coffee shop Byron. If I hadn't, I would never had known what it was like to feel the type of love I feel when I look at you and Mason, and the love I feel for this little peanut." She whispered.

"I count my lucky stars every night for that day kitten. Every night." I whispered back.

We smiled at each other, revelling in our love for each other, for our family and for our pack, all possible when the purist little kitten bumped smack bang into the chest of a wolf. The moon goddess knew what she was doing when she made my kitten, and it was something I'm going to be grateful for till I breathe my last breath. Pulling into that town was the best thing I ever did, I was rewarded with my true mate, and my beautiful little family. I was the luckiest wolf on earth.

"My kitten." I whispered.

"My sweet wolf." She whispered.

Forever.
