KASSIDY

__________

After my time with Wren, he took me home. When I walked through the door what I saw surprised the hell out of me.

The Alpha and Brayden?

They were seated in our living room with my parents and Kash. He looked ready to pounce.

What were they doing here?

As I opened my mouth, I was halted by Beta Ryan.

"Sorry Kassidy, but you went to far this time. You have to come with us." He had a pained smile on his lips.

"Ryan, hold her down on the right. Brayden, take the left. I have to subdue her." Alpha Alex spoke.

Kash stood up and approached the Beta, but another pack member pulled him down into the couch.

I opened my mouth again in protest but a large needle pierced my neck. The black liquid swirled in the contained glass.

I felt my powers begin to hum, but they wouldn't come. The more I tried to exert them the more they shit down.

What was in that needle?

I knew my eyes had changed colors as I looked up into Kash's eyes. I thought his eyes mirrored my own for a second. His eyes had glowed a new color.

The flashed Revolutionary colors...

Impossible.

I felt the last piece of my powers slowly become dormant. Then something weird happened. A slither of my essence creeped its way out of my fingertip over Kash.

It latched onto him like a lifeline and sank into his arm. His body slightly began to shake. The room got hotter, his eyes flashed to mine and I knew it wasn't a mistake this time.

My power transferred to Kash.

It looked beautiful. Even though my powers were dormant, I could still see the faint colors of my aura wrap around his being. His eyes met with mine, and I felt our bond hum to life.

The twin bond.

It was similar to the mate bond, except we didn't find each other attractive. I felt his pain, his happiness too. We can see into each other's minds as well.

It's pretty gross being inside a teenage boy's mind. Especially since he's my brother.

My body felt heavy.

My eyelids dropped, my hands felt weightless.

I felt empty.

I mindlinked Kash.

'Some of my power had transferred into you. I think you should be careful. No one else noticed it was you, so stay calm for me. Your emotions may get out of control because of the power in you now.' I gave him a reassuring smile.

My body was lifted off of the floor by strong arms. I was thrown over a pair of shoulders and heard faint orders.

"Kassidy Grayson, are to be punished for your crimes against the future Alpha and fellow pack members." I faintly heard the Alpha speak.

Kash's voice filled my mind.

"Stay strong Kassidy, I'll get you out of there. I think I can handle them. I may not be of Alpha blood, but I am strong. With your powers, I know I can. Call for your mate. He'll come for you.'

And with that, I blacked out.

__________

When I woke up I was in a patch of dirt. My hands were tied down to a pile in the ground. I felt weak.

Empty.

Useless.

'Solanis, are you there?' My attempt to reach her was interrupted by a crowd of pack members.

Everyone was here.

My parents were fighting to get through the crowd, Kash was fighting with Beta Ryan.

Jordan was crying and trying to warn me of something.

Anais was crying out to me too.

I saw Kassandra in the far back, she had shackles on her arms and ankles. She was crying too.

Mouthing that she was sorry.

What did she do?

More importantly, what did I do?

I looked down at the chains holding me down into the dirt. The old rusty pole is my face, its rust scratch my forehead. I tried to move but I couldn't. I see Ben nearing Kash. He was hidden in the crowd.

He looked angry, why?

"Kassidy Grayson, do you admit to your crimes against the Blood Moon Pack? Attempting to harm your future Alpha, then putting fellow members in a sleep trance?"

Huh, I did that?

I can't remember a thing. I felt a dull ache in my neck. A rush of memories filed my mind.

Brayden.

Argument.

Dominance being fought over.

Hallway.

Kassandra and Brayden.

Everyone sleep.

"Well? Do you admit to it?" The Alpha bellows out again.

"Yes, or no?" He asked again.

I gave a slow nod, not entirely sure of my answer.

I was still so confused.

"What's going on?" I weakly asked. My voice was so rough sounding. My throat itches and hurt when I breathed.

Brayden whispered into the Alpha's ear, by the expression that appeared on his face, it wasn't nice.

His body started to shake, in guessing out of anger.

Luna Georgia handed him a long leather rope with a pretty, shiny wire on it.

He looked at me and his eyes changed to a blood red color.

Before I knew what was happening a loud crack filled the air. And so did a scream.

I soon realized that it came from me.

I turned around with tear-filled eyes and looked at my sweater. It had a big hole in it now.

Blood was covering it.

Another crack of the whip filled the air.

Another scream hit my ears.

It was a whip, with silver lacing.

I instantly sobered front the effects of the drug they gave me earlier. It stung so excruciatingly bad.

It immediately welted my skin, leaving an angry red bruise there.

Crack!

Crack!

Crack!

I lost count of how many had met my skin after that. I cried out in so much I wanted it all to end.

Why couldn't they just kill me already?

A loud and scary growl hit the air.

It sounded so familiar, but who's was it?

I heard angry words leave my twin's mouth. Beta Ryan had a collar around his throat, dragging him into a big black cage.

A few more pack members helped put him in, but he kept fighting.

But his eyes flashed.

Glowing in my Revolutionary colors.

Our bond...

I heard someone laughing, it sounded annoying to me. Now I understand why.

It was Brayden's.

Another five cracks of the whip hit me hard on the back. Another crazy growl hit my ears, but this one was different.

Out of nowhere, it began to get chilly.

The wind began to swirl, thunder met the sky in vigorous claps, lightning flashed too. A familiar smell filled my senses.

Pineand spring rain.

"Wren!" I screamed out. My voice sounded raw and scratchy, and a lot quieter than it usually was.

I need water.

I look to my right side and seen him.

Let's just say he looks incredible angry.

He was fuming, his body was shaking vigorously.

Is he having a seizure?

Wren's usual mossy green eyes were swirling with Revolutionary colors. Also with a hint of black around the edges. He looked over his shoulders and seen something. He turned to me. When we locked eyes, it all went downhill.

"No!" He yelled out.

His voice was really deep.

Nice.

"Kassidy!" Was he mad at me too?

Damn it.

His body grew larger, his claws and canines elongated too. His ice sword came forth. He started running towards the Alpha. Then I look at my twin in his cage. He was breaking through.

He bent the bars and ran out in a blur.

Blood.

Screams.

Roaring.

Crying.

Everything happened so fast. Wren jumped into the air, Kash broke out of the cage. Both boys attacked the Alpha.

At full force.

Wren ripped the arm holding what looked like some kind of... knife? Why did he have a knife with him.

Was he gonna kill me?

Kash held the other arm in his mouth, tearing it out of the socket with all his skin shredding into pieces.

While Wren held the arm with the knife oh his hands like a trophy. The boys locked eyes and gave a nod, were they mindlinking?

Kash dropped the bleeding the arm out of his mouth.

A bloody smile graced his lips. He looked for something til' his eyes landed on me. But someone stopped him before he came any closer.

Beta Ryan.

Kash had pushed the Beta out of the way, he didn't want to hurt him, nor did the Beta want to hurt him. Kash looked at me and nodded to me.

'I'm coming for ya. Just hang tight, alright?' Kash mindlinked.

I gave a sad nod to my brother. He then turned back to the Beta and picked his body over his head, then threw the big Beta into a tree in the woods.

My eyes searched for Wren. He was currently punching an unconscious Alpha Alex in his bloodied face.

He didn't go down without a fight, Wren had cuts and bruises on his gorgeous face. The armless Alpha was at his peak of life, Wren noticed because he gave a grim smile.

A flash of red danced in his eyes, but it gone the next moment.

He was enjoying taking this man's life.

The realization made me question him.

Who is Wrenjamin McAllistair really?

I looked away, not wanting to see the gruesome show of violence in front of me, I looked for my friends.

I found Kassandra hurling over in pain. Brayden's foot connected harshly with her chin, leaving Kassandra flying backwards.

I wanted to help her so badly. But I still can't move my body.

Every small movement had me scream out in pain.

Jordan had rushed out of nowhere and pounced onto Brayden's body, tumbling to the ground in a big thud. She climbed on top of Brayden and punched her mercilessly over and over again.

Brayden grabbed a handful of dirt and threw it in Jordan's face. Hindering her sight, Brayden kicked her straight into her chest sending her flying towards me.

Before she landed on my whipped back, Kash stepped in and caught her.

"You girls okay?" He asked. His voice was deeper too, his chest was heaving up and down.

Jordan nodded, I just cried out again.

Kash and Jordan's bodies were thrown away from my withered one. A dark shadow-like figure stood in front of my hands. A heavy foot stomped my back, thrashing my front into the ground. A cry of pain left my mouth.

Excruciating pain shook my whole body.

The heavy foot lifted from my body as Wren's angry and concerned form came into sight. The figure disappeared into the air like mist. Large, bloody, cool hands gently grasped my face.

Sea green and black eyes met mine, hurt swimming through them.

A hard voice spoke to me, "Kassidy, baby, you need to get up and fight alright? We need to get you out of here." The voice said to me.

"Oh my God, Kassidy. Wake up!" The voice sounded so familiar to me.

"Anais, help Kassidy! She's dying! Not again." Hands caressed my cheeks.

"I'll be right back, okay?" I nodded.

So close, yet so distant.

I was in and out of consciousness. I seen slight visions of the scene in front of me. Mom and the Luna were fighting. Dad was helping Kash and Jordan. Ben was carrying Kassandra. Anais was healing and chanting.

Brayden was marching over with a knife.

A slicing pain tore through my back to my abdomen. A hand holding a silver knife deep in my body.

Wren's screaming hit my ears. Anais' body thrown into the dirt. Kash ran so fast to me and dropped to his knees.

Everyone surrounded me.

Mom, Dad, Wren, Kass, Jordan, Ben, and Anais. She limped over with a claw mark in her shoulder.

"My baby! No, no this can't be happening." Mom screamed. Her hands were holding my face and my head was in her lap.

The harsh ground made my wounds hurt even more as she moved.

I whimpered and cried and she stopped moving.

"Wren, what's happening?" Kash asked.

"She can't die again right?"Kassandra asked worried.

They're so damn far away.

I can't touch them.

I need to say goodbye.

I know I'm dying, all over again.

I heard a sweet voice fill my mind.

'You better get up and fight Kassidy. You are strong, stronger than you think. Fight until you can't anymore.' The beautiful voice filled in.

I knew who she was, she kicked my ass for like seven months.

Solanis.

The familiar feeling of being pushed through space and the Other Plain surrounded my body.

I was in the Afterlife.

My eyes shot open. I was near the boarders again.I looked around, in search of Solanis.

She was in the patch of dirt between the two packs.

It was empty, my family, friends, or mate was here.

Just Solanis and I.

Beautiful and graceful.

Her long white dress blew in the wind. Her hair still in a long braid. She looked up at me and gave a sad smile to me.

"My sweet child, you've come back. You shouldn't be here." She spoke quietly. Her eyes giving me a warning.

I didn't understand.

I felt a dark presence behind me. From the corner of my eye, I saw the shadow-like figure.

Solanis wasn't in the same place as before, now she was standing in front of me in a fighting stance.

"You are not to be near her. Do you here me Stylo. You are not to touch this girl, her powers are her own. Don't touch the boy either." She commands the being.

It stands there watching from under it hood. Yellow, dirty teeth showed in a wicked smile. It pulled its hood down.

A head full of black greasy hair, black eyes, broken nose, and decaying skin looked at me. Just the smell of him made me wanna barf.

"I will have her. We met today actually," he turned towards me.

"It's nice to see you Kassidy." He smiled at me, his stub of a tongue darted out of his mouth and licked his cracked lips.

Ew.

Solanis turned her back to the man, acing me. She placed a small vial of fluorescent and gold liquid into my palm.

She whispered a 'drink it' to me. I put the vile in my back pocket. Then she pressed two of her fingers on my forehead and I blacked out.

I felt my body go back into space and the other plain. I was back. My eyes shot open again, I was gasping for air, worried and relieved faces looked at me. I instantly put my hand in my pocket and pulled out the vial.

I pulled off the cap, then gulped it down.

My body felt alive again.

My back stretched back into place, my wound from the knife closed. My powers woke up again. Kash's eyes dimmed down into their usual color as my power came back to me. Flames licked my fingertips, and I knew that it was my time.

My time to stay alive.
