It had almost been a week since Ava had accepted Zanes offer. She was surprised at how quickly she had got accustomed to her new life. She had started to think of the room In the mansion as home, started to get to know other people of Zane’s organisation besides Zane, Jax, Ben and Ryder. Everyone had treated her with respect and had been mindful of not Invading her space. It was the one thing Ava still had an issue with. She tensed up as soon as men got to close to her. Well, not Zane. For some reason he was the exception to the rule. She even had a hard time if Ryder or Tom got to close. But her body didn’t see Zane as a threat. Instead, it seemed to crave his touch. And boy did he touch her. After not doing anything the Sunday after their first sexual encounter, Zane had changed again and now they had developed a routine. It consisted of them eating breakfast together, then they would go to Zane’s office where he would work, and she read or texted with Gabriel or surfed around looking for a hobby she could occupy her mind and hands with. Anna brought them lunch and lunch always ended up with Zane eating Ava out, followed by her returning the favour. After they both came back to reality, Zane would usually have things to do outside the mansion. Ava never got to go with him. She spent the time doing her own thing. She had met with the lawyer who had looked into her situation and had come back to her the next day with several different options. In the end Ava offered her aunt and uncle to live in Ava’s house for a low rent on the condition they signed a lease. That hadn’t gone down well with her relatives, but as they didn’t have a better option, they agreed. But mostly, Ava spent her free time in her room or in the library of the mansion. When Zane and Jax got back home, they would all eat dinner together and Zane would insist she joined him and Jax as they went through the day and planned for the next. The evening ended with Zane giving her an orgasm and she again returned the favour. Never in her room, or his. What had Ava confused was the fact Zane hadn’t Initiated anything other than oral sex. Ava would have thought after a week together with the sexiest man she had ever seen, she would no longer be a virgin. But here she was, in fact they hadn’t even seen each other fully naked. After having spent yesterday afternoon thinking about It, Ava had concluded Zane probably had someone else he was doing those things with. Going into this, Ava had made a promise to herself she would be honest with herself. She realised she might need to lie to other people in her situation. But she would not lie to herself. In light of that, she admitted it stung that Zane didn’t want her in that way. She also admitted that It was a little insane to feel that way, she should be relived. Ava also reminded herself they weren’t a couple and she needed to remember that. He was free to enjoy other women.

Ava needed to get out of her room, or she would never stop thinking about her sex life, she thought. It was a nice fall day and Zane wasn’t expecting her to be ready for the club for several hours. She had yet to go out into the garden surrounding the mansion. She had asked Zane and he had told her as long as she stayed inside the walls, she was free to walk around. Ava put on her jacket and scarf and headed outside. The sun was shining, and the trees had started to shift. It was a lovely day, and the air was clear and the garden was quiet. After walking around the gravelled paths for almost an hour, Ava could feel herself feeling a lot better. She headed inside and thought she would go by the kitchen to grab a mug of tea to take to her room. When she entered the house she heard women laughing and as she took off her jacket a group of women came walking out of the living room. Ava hadn’t talked with the women in the house except for Anna and some of the maids. As Ava understood it, only she, Anna and three maids lived in the mansion. Anna and the maids lived in the part of the house where the kitchen was. Otherwise there were only men living in the house. She had heard someone talking that if you wanted to live with your girlfriend, or if you decided to marry, you got an apartment in a house on the other end on the property if you didn’t want to get your own place. That didn’t mean the house was vold of women. There were still girlfriends and temporary women hanging around, spending a night here and there. Avrah noticed some of the women showed up almost every evening. 

It wasn’t strange, Ava thought. Powerful men always attracted women, and the men in the mansion were powerful. Zane more than anyone. And that was why Ava hadn’t been surprised by the looks some of the women gave her. Most of the regular women would give their right arm to be in Ava’s position. These were the women who were coming out of the living room. The woman up front, Ava thought her name was Olivia, stopped and glared at Ave.

Ave sald, trying to walk past the five women to get to the kitchen.

Ava didn’t know what to say. It was true she had no clue what she was doing when it came to sex. She had mostly reacted to Zane, and Zane had not complained. Then he hadn’t taken her to bed either. Maybe Olivia had a point, Ava thought. As the women laughed with Oliva, Ava Just felt uncomfortable and self–conscious. 

“Miss A, is everything alright?” Ryder had walked into the hallway and walked up to her. 

Yes, everything is fine, she told him. He looked at her and she wondered what he was really asking her. 

Hi, Ryder. What do you say, want to do something fun with me tonight?” Olivia asked. Ryder barley glanced at the 

Tm busy. The boss has told me to watch miss A when they go out tonight,” he said. 

“Oh, come on baby. She don’t need watching. You can’t just leave me all alone, Olivia Insisted with a pout. Ava had always been fascinated with women who could pout on demand, did men rally find it attractive? 

“Get a grip, Olivia. You know the boss‘ word is final. And I know you won’t be alone. You never go to bed alone if you don’t want to,” Ryder said. “Where were you heading, miss A?” he then asked. 

“Oh, the kitchen,” Ava told him. 

“Can I join you? I want to see if I can pinch some of Anna’s cookies.” 

“Sure,” she said with a nod 

“You should tell the boss about Olivia,” Ryder said as they walked away. 

“Why?” 

“I think he would want to know. He has told them to leave you alone,” Ryder told her.

We were only talking,” Ava objected. 

“Is that what you really think? Ava thought about it. She wasn’t as Innocent as everyone thought she was. She knew Oliva was trying to get into Ava’s head. It was embarrassing to admit that she had succeeded. 

“No, but I will be here for a while. I can’t hide behind Zane, I need to learn to fit in on my own premises, she finally 

said. 

“I get that, but still. Talk to the boss.” Ava nodded, she would think about what she would tell Zane. At the moment she just wanted a nice mug of tea so she could relax before she needed to get ready.
