Chapter 188

Chapter Sixity–Seven: Queenie Lessons.

Kiara’s POV:

Morning light filtered through the grand windows, painting an array of vibrant colours across the room. I woke to a symphony of birds chirping outside, and for a moment, I forgot about everything and allowed myself to sink into the tranquillity of the morning. The soft sheets against my skin, the warmth of the bodies beside me, and the lingering traces of our passionate night reminded me of the new reality. I was living.

As my eyes fluttered open, the first sight that greeted me was Jayden’s peaceful face. His dark hair was strewn across his forehead, his long eyelashes casting shadows on his cheeks, and his lips slightly parted as he breathed evenly. Turning my head, I found Kayden on my other side, his arm thrown across his eyes to block the light, a soft snore escaping his lips.

A quiet laugh escaped my lips, stirring Jayden awake. His golden eyes. blinked open slowly, a soft smile spreading across his face as he saw me. His hand reached up to tuck a loose strand of hair behind my ear, his touch gentle, almost reverent.

“Good morning, love,” he murmured, his voice still thick with sleep.

“Morning.” I replied, my heart fluttering at the endearment

I still hadn’t gotten over that these two hunks were my males. My

mates!

The sound of movement behind me alerted me to Kayden’s

wakefulness. He groaned softly, rolling onto his side to wrap an arm around my waist, Pulling me closer, he nuzzled his face into the crook of my neck, pressing soft k*sses against my skin.

“Morning, sweetheart,” he mumbled, his breath warm against my skin.

“Morning,” I echoed, giggling as his stubble tickled my neck.

I sighed! This is all I ever wanted! I wouldn’t even get out of bed if it were up to me.

Eventually, we extricated ourselves from the tangle of limbs and sheets, ready to start the day. But as I prepared to leave the comfort of our bed, a strange realization hit me: I was their Luna Queen now, and there were things I needed to learn, duties I needed to fulfill, and I wasn’t going to lic, but the thoughts freaked me the hell out. As if reading my mind, Jayden gently caught my hand, pulling me back onto the bed. His golden eyes met mine, understanding reflecting in their depths.

“There’s no need to worry, Kiara. You’re not alone in this. We’re here

with you every step of the way,” he reassured me.

Nodding, Kayden echoed his sentiment.

“We’ll guide you through it all. You’re our queen, but you’re also our mate. We will keep you from getting lost in the weight of the crown. We know it’ll be hard for you, and we don’t want you to think there’s a right or wrong answer for anything. You’re learning like we were when we were children. Plus, our mom will be with us every step of the way.” Kayden said, pecking my forehead.

Their words were like a soothing balm, a remedy to the anxiety that had knotted within me. I felt their understanding, their readiness to stand by my side as we journeyed this path together. I was not alone, and that realization sparked a renewed confidence within me. Clad in the love and support that wrapped around me like a comforting blanket. I prepared myself to face the unfolding day.

Following our shared morning rituals, filled with tender k*sses and assuring touches, the twins left our room. Their lingering scents and the soft echo of their laughter left a sense of warmth that staved off the silence of the grand room. They had a council meeting to attend, and with a bit of persuasion from me, they relented to leave, with a promise that they were just a call away if I needed them.

As the door closed behind them, marking their departure, another opened, allowing entrance to Christian, my newly appointed assistant. Along with her trailed a team of individuals, their appearances as crisp and meticulous as the woman leading them. In comparison to the nurturing warmth of my mates, Christian’s presence felt like the chilly brush of winter. Her cold blue eyes, devoid of any notable emotion,

scanned over me as she offered a formal nod of acknowledgment.

“Good morning. Luna Kiara,” Christian greeted, her tone professional, stripped of any familiarity.

“Good morning, Christian,” I returned the greeting, my own voice. steady.

I was gearing up for the day, the day which was to be the onset of my lessons as a queen. It was not long before Christian unrolled a meticulously prepared schedule for the day. She elucidated my duties – etiquette lessons, language classes, and diplomatic relations, to name a few. Each duty came with a set of expectations, each expectation a reflection of the Luna Queen’s role. The enormity of it all was almost overwhelming, a heavy crown that I was to wear.

My heart pounded in my chest as I absorbed each word, my mind racing to keep up with the flood of information. Each duty seemed more daunting than the last, and yet, I found myself bolstered by an undercurrent of excitement. This was a new chapter in my life, an essential part of my identity as the Luna Queen, and I was eager to rise to the challenge.

However, Christian’s presence proved to be a constant test of my patience. Her attitude bordered on passive–aggressive, her biting remarks and thinly veiled impatience a stark contrast to the support I had from my mates. But I resolved to ignore her demeanour, channelling my focus onto the duties that lay ahead. It was all part of the journey, part of what it meant to be their Luna Queen.

Christian’s crisp demeanour never wavered as she continued to lay out

the schedule for the day. As we ventured further into the day’s plans, the need to prepare myself physically for the roles ahead arose. I retreated into the attached dressing room, ready to select a comfortable. outfit to ease my way into the day’s tasks.

My hand fell on a sundress hanging among a myriad of outfits. Its fabric was soft and delicate, its design simple yet elegant. It was normal, familiar, something that echoed a part of the old Kiara I still clung to amidst the whirlwind of changes. Slipping into the dress, I admired the reflection in the full–length mirror. The dress hugged my figure just right, its hem swaying gently around my knees, offering a sense of freedom and comfort.

However, my moment of peace was disrupted when Christian walked in, her icy gaze falling on my choice of attire. A disapproving frown. marred her pristine features as she scoffed lightly.

“Luna Kiara,” she began, her tone laced with subtle scorn. “You’re a queen now; you can’t be seen in… casual attire.”

The confidence that I had started to regain wavered at her words. A cold sense of uncertainty swept over me as I looked at Christian. Her stern gaze bore into me, making it clear that my choice of attire was anything but appropriate.

I was caught between wanting to maintain my personal comfort and the need to respect the longstanding traditions and expectations of a queen. After a moment of silent contemplation, I gave a small nod, signalling Christian to choose an outfit.

She didn’t waste a moment, moving towards the vast collection of regal

attire that filled the dressing room. The air of superiority she carried seemed to heighten as she meticulously picked out a sophisticated gown. Its fabric shimmered under the room’s lighting, the design elaborate and, by all means, beautiful but far from my usual style.

Reluctantly, I changed into the selected outfit, feeling awkward and out of place. The gown was undoubtedly stunning, it fit me perfectly, accentuating my figure in all the right places, yet I felt confined, a stranger to my own reflection.

As I was adjusting to the new attire, my enhanced hearing picked up hushed whispers. Christian and her team were conversing in low voices; their words were meant to be unheard. However, my heightened senses picked up on their conversation effortlessly. Their words were a mixture of mockery and amusement, doubts about my capability to be a queen and snide comments about the twins‘ previous preferences for women.

A flush of embarrassment heated my ch*eks as their whispers washed over me. The sense of belonging I had started to feel crumbled as insecurity gnawed at me. Their words echoed the same doubts I had been wrestling with myself. Was I good enough? Was I ready to be their queen? I guess only time will tell.

I took a deep breath and pushed all the thoughts down. I knew people would have a problem; everyone wanted to be in a position of power. It was up to me to prove that I was more than capable enough to stand next to the alpha kings.
