Alpha Of Aberdeen
Chapter 46

I get to my feet quickly, but when I do, I find myself staring at my mother's wolf. “I guess Sukie was telling the truth,” I snarl at her betrayal. “Sukie messed up everything we had planned because she fell for the damn Alpha. I was to sleep with him to get close to the pack, but I got pregnant with you. I was going to get rid of you, but Sukie wouldn't let me because you are Cypress's child, so she did a spell to keep you safe until I found a way to break the spell when you turned thirteen” She sneers, her eyes filled with disgust.

As I take in her words, it feels like my heart breaks. “You didn't want me?” I ask. “No, I'm sorry to burst your little fairytale bubble, but you were a mistake that Sukie wouldn't let me undo.” She says without hesitation or remorse. “So why didn't you kill me when I was thirteen?” I ask, trying not to let her get to me as we circled each other. “I was going too, but Sukie did a spell to turn me into this hideous creature and put a cloak around Aberdeen so I couldn't come near you, but when you died, the spell broke and the cloak lifted, but what I can't figure out is why I'm still a fucking wolf” She declares. “Maybe cause you're such a low life bitch. Being in wolf form for the rest of your life is what's best for everyone,” I retort with a growl, earning a scowl from her.

“I only wanted what was best for our coven and having a baby with the Alpha was not what was best,” My mother declares. "Well, it seems that you have been waiting all this time to kill me, so let's not keep you waiting any longer, Colette," I say, no longer letting her have the mother title. I plant my two front paws readying myself to pounce. In an instant, Colette and I charge at one another. As our bodies slam into each other, the noise is so loud it brings all the attention out to us, and a crowd forms around us.

We roll around on the ground, snarling and snapping at each other's throats. Finally, I make contact and bite Colette in the shoulder, making her fall back on her hind leg, losing her balance and flipping over backward. I take this chance to jump on her with my razor-sharp teeth inches away from her neck.

“Chloe, rethink this. We can start new. I can be the mother you want" Her voice pleads frantically in my head. “You made your choice long ago before I was even born. You're already dead, remember. Burn in hell bitch!” I growl, looking her wolf in the eyes, and I don't hesitate when I tear her throat out.

I spit out the chuck of her throat to the ground as I back away, looking at Colette laying lifeless. The pack stands around me, now in their human forms, and they all start to cheer. I see Malachi making his way through the crowd, and he has changed back as well. He looks at me with concern as he glances at my mother's lifeless corpse. “Chloe, it's okay you can shift. The other pack has run off. What's left of them anyway.” Malachi links to me.

I stand there for a second, looking like a lost puppy, before I take off for the house. I stop at the door and shift back to my human form, then run for the stairs. 'I killed my mother," I think to myself as I climb the stairs, feeling the tears fall down my cheeks. I open the door to our room and rush for the closet to grab some clothes. I blindly rip whatever I come to first off the hangers. I struggle to pull my pants on as I try to walk back into the room, going to my vanity to grab a ponytail to put my hair up. I look at my reflection in the mirror and see my makeup is smudged, but I don't care. I put my hair in a bun and ran out the door.

As I come out of the door, I run right into Malachi's bare chest. It's like getting hit in the head with a rock. I keep my eyes to the floor. "Luna, where are you going?" He asks, lifting my chin with his finger to make me look at him. "I love you, but I need to be alone, please,” I tell him, slipping out of his grasp and running down the hall. I don't look back at Malachi, but I can feel his eyes on me as I make it to the stairs, rushing down, two steps at a time. I run across the living room and burst the door open and run as far away as I can get before slowing to a walk.

I finally stop in the middle of a field, trying to catch my breath as I sit down in the grass. I start pulling some weeds from the ground and tossing them away in frustration. When I've had enough, I lay back on the grass, looking up to the sky. I stay in the same spot for hours until I see the stars. come out. I sit up, wrapping my arms around my legs, pulling them to my chest. I finally let the flood of tears fall.

I hear footsteps approaching me, so I wipe my face with the back of my hand as I search the field. I spot Sukie coming toward me and sigh, looking to my feet as I dig my toes into the dirt. I ran out of the house so fast. I forgot my shoes. Sukie walks up to me and I look up at her. "What are you doing here?" I groan, taking my gaze back to the ground. "I came to check on you,” She says, sitting on the ground next to me. I turn my head in her direction, laying my head on my knees.

"I don't know how to feel. I was so angry at that moment, I did what I had to do, but it still hurts that Colette never wanted me,” I tell Sukie as a tear slips down my cheek. I rub it away against my jeans. "Chloe, I know it's hard, but Cypress has loved you always, and he still does. He loves both you and your baby," She whispers, grabbing my hand. I nibble on my lip, trying not to cry in front of Sukie, but she can tell that I'm hurting and pulls me into her. "Colette was a selfish woman, but Cypress has never stopped trying to see you. He has been following you since you were little, making sure you were safe.” Sukie tells me with a grin appearing on her face.

"You do love him, don't you?" I ask, searching for her facial expression. Sukie smiles the same way I do when I'm talking about Malachi. "You don't have to answer, that smile says it all,” I say

before she can answer. "What about Cora? Who is her mother?" I inquire, leaning my head on Sukie's shoulder. She hesitates for a moment, so I bring my head up to look at her.

"What is it?" I ask with a look of confusion. Sukie clears her throat "Cora is Cypress and I's daughter," She says with a worried look. I smile at her. "Sukie, I'm so happy you and Cypress

found love,” I tell her leaning back into her arms. Sukie squeezes me tight.

"CHLOE?!" Cora yells in the field. Sukie and I look in her direction. "Cora over here," I shout

back. She walks to us, looking down at us. "What are you two doing on the ground?" She questions, lifting a brow. "Talking, sweetie," Sukie smirks. "I take it, you know?" Cora looks at

me. "Yeah," I smile, twirling a piece of my hair around my finger and looking to the sky.

We sit there talking like we have known each other forever before Sukie says. "It's getting late.

We better go, and you should head back to the packhouse,” Sukie insists, standing, and Cora

does the same, dusting herself off. "I'm going to take a few more minutes here then I'll head home,” I tell them with a grin. "Okay," Sukie says as they start to walk into the forest near the

field.

I get up, brushing the dirt off my pants, and start walking back to the house. I can't help but look up at the stars to find the moon shining brightly behind me. I am so captivated by the moon that I'm not looking in front of me, and I run into something solid. I turn to see what it was, and my eyes go round. "What is the Luna of Aberdeen doing out here all by her lonesome?" Gregor whispers in a deep voice. I swallow hard.
