I've been really stressed out ever since I saw that little kid with Reyna. Who could he be? Why was he saying she's his mommy?

"Babe! I'll go get ready for dinner," Tara's high-

pitched voice snapped me back to reality. I looked in her direction and then shook my head in disappointment. I've been trying my best to get used to her being around, but Reyna's arrival has messed everythin for a second, and now it's even worse.

"Hunter!" Tara called out again, making me frown. I walked past her to get to my room before she could follow me there. If someone else were in her place, they would have quit and left a long time ago. She's li I had figured out much earlier that I couldn't be with her. "No!" I replied, not allowing her to manipulate me into feeling sorry for her.

"Why not?" she asked, no longer pretending to be polite.

"Because I just got back from work, and after the stunt you pulled in the office, I'm really upset," said, my voice filled with irritation, and I noticed her eyes getting teary.

"What's going on here? Are you two arguing again?" Thankfully, my mom arrived just in time. I could count on her to defuse the situation.
