Bethany's POV

“Holy f**k" she let out in a hoarse tone, turning to gaze at everyone around her, eyeing us suspiciously as we all gawked at her.

“What the hell is going on here, and why are you all looking at me that way?" She asked us while stretching her body, trying to get off the bed.

“How are you feeling, what the hell happened here, who did this to you?" Dominic asked immediately, not waiting for her to recover fully. She had not realized that she was in the hospital. When Dominic spoke up, she widened her eyes in shock as she takes in her surrounding. When she realized that she was on the hospital bed, she turned to face me immediately, looking more stunned than she initially was.

“What the hell happened? Where is he Beth, did we stop him, have we finally caught our mole?” she asked me in shock, looking around at the faces around.

“We didn't get him, did we?" she muttered softly when she saw our grumpy-looking faces. It's so obvious that we weren't abl to get the mole, it's written all over our faces. I think she saw something, she has this look on her face that shows that she is thinking about something.

“You were sprawled on the floor unconscious when we found you. We have no idea what had happened to you” I told her calmly.

“And the generals?” she asked, making me turn to look up at Carl for help because I don't know how to tell her that we have failed in our mission. Worse yet, I can't tell her that it had been my fault. I caused all this, I let my emotions cloud my judgment and now I've caused the death of two men, two generals. If only I had ignored him and left with her, we would hav been able to apprehend that bastard. The General would not have died, they would have still been alive right now.

“He got to them before we arrived, they are dead Riet, he f****g killed them." I told her furiously. She clenched her fist furiously, contorting her face in anger. It's all my fault, it's all on me. Harriet is a general, a strong fighter, and an experiencec leader. She had never been beaten or defeated until today and it's all my fault. I just ruined her reputation with my stupid feelings.

I'should never have gone to search for him, even after I found him with that b***h, I should have just left him, I should have just gone along with the mission, I should have just Left him to his silly cravings, I should have put the mission first, I should have put Harriet and the mission first, this should never have happened, it is my fault. No, what the hell am I even saying, it’ not my fault, it's his fault, it's all Dominic's fault and I'll make sure he pays dearly for everything he has done.

“How did he get to you, did you get a glimpse of the mole?" Dominic asked in his hoarse, authoritative voice that forces one to obey his voice.

“No, I didn't get a chance to see his face, he was already in the room before I got in. He must have known where the generals would be, he was hiding out in the vents before I got in, and he took me unaware. I think he used a Taser, the kind that the hunters use on us, you know how powerful it is, I passed out almost immediately” She explained calmly, causing me to let out a sigh as I kept blaming myself for everything that she had gone through.

“A Taser?

How the f**k did he sneak in all these weapons without being seen, how the hell did I let my guard down to this extent?” he bellows in anger as his aura comes out to suppress everyone in the room. I could see everyone bowing their heads, baring their neck in submission. Everyone except for me, his aura doesn't affect me as much as it affects the others. I can feel it, bu I'm not compelled to obey. He is still yelling at everyone in the room, raining abusive words, and raining his anger on us. For all we know, he could be screwing one of his whores when the mole snuck the weapons into his Castle. Why the hell did is hy screaming at us now when it's all his fault. He is the one that uses all his time and energy screwing different whores, why is he getting upset at us when it is all his fault, why the hell is he glaring at us?

“You can check out of the hospital when you're feeling better, I've got some matters to attend to.” He said abruptly, turning to leave the room without trying to find out if Harriet is doing okay. I watched him leave in anger, I can feel his fury even as he walked away. I think there is something else bothering him, he looks so exhausted, like he has been working all day. Why wouldn't he be exhausted when he has been banging whores all day?

Iturned to face Harriet, smiling warmly as I saw her lost in thought. I don't need anyone to tell me that she is thinking about her mate, I had noticed that he wasn't here as well. He never misses a chance to be with her, he would never have left her al alone in this hospital if he knows that she is here. I'm so sure that king Dominic never told him that she is in the hospital, he would never abandon her here, he would have dropped everything he is doing to come to be with her. Caring and loving, tha is the kind of man that Carl is, not that hot-headed, grumpy-looking a*****e, Dominic.

“You know he would have been here if he knew about it, right?”

“Yeah, I know that, but that doesn't help the fact that I still wish he was here, I miss him, so much” She muttered softly, causing me to giggle softly. I wish I share this kind of love and understanding with Dominic, it would have made my life lovey and perfect.

“By the way, what kept you guys so long, I waited for you guys but you never showed up. What had you been doing?

Do not tell me that you both abandoned me to the mercy of that bastard because you needed a few minutes to catch up wit each other. We're you having a quickie in the king's office?” she asked teasingly.

“I wish that was the case, you have no idea how much I wish to be in his arms Riet. Truly, the king had been having a quickie but he wasn't doing it with me, No, he had Bianca to satisfy his desires, why the hell would he need me?” I told her sadly, narrating everything that had happened between us to her.

“You know what I think, I think you're selling yourself too cheap to this guy, Beth. He has no idea what he is missing, why don't you show him exactly what he is missing by not being with you, show him that you can still get whatever you want elsewhere, and stop letting him feel so important. I think that's the best course of action right now.” She said cheeky, bringing back her childish, playful attitude.

“I know Harriet and he knows that as well. But I can't find any guy in this Castle that would want to spend time with me. I think he warned them to stay away from me, I have no one to use as a rebound and it hurts me to know that I'm stuck with him. I just want to be free, I just want to have fun and enjoy my stay here, is that too much to ask? I think I should just accep his rejection and move on with my life, I'm getting tired of all this game we are playing" I let out in frustration. I didn't know that a drop of tears had escaped my eyelids until she used a finger to wipe it off, smiling down at me.

“You seem to have forgotten about the talk we had earlier. I don't know why he keeps acting like a douchbag, but trust me, he loves you, he really does. If only you'll be patient enough to get to know him better, you just have to try and get him to trust you again, I promise you, he's not a bad guy, he just has a weird way of concealing his feeling. Let's just work on getting him back to your arms, if you can achieve that, then there is nothing in this world that can come between you two."

“What if it never happens, what if he never accepts me again?” I muttered softly.

“You just leave that to me, Betty. Don't worry your pretty head about that. I'm about to show you how I was able to steal you man while you were away." She joked, making me glare daggers at her for reminding me that she had taken Carl away from me. I thought it was only their bond that brought them together, but it seems that she had worked hard to make him fall for her as well. I hope it works for me, I hope Dominic falls for me as well.

“And what about our plans to get the mole?”

“Leave that to me as well. We would find another chance to catch him, I'll make it my personal mission to hunt that bastard and get him to confess everything he knows about king Ashford’s operations. He just messed with the wrong General” She swore angrily, looking so lethal and evil, I'm sure the mole would have peed his pants if he sees her this way.

It was getting late already. We have been listing for hours nonstop. The nurse is ready to discharge her, and we are heading back to the Castle to prepare for dinner. The rest of the girls only have two days left before they would leave, the guys are making them have lots and lots of fun before they leave. I could see a glint in Harriet's eyes. She only looks this excited whe she is planning something ridiculous, She can be so stubborn when she wants to, more stubborn than me even. We were driving back to the castle, we have to hurry so we don't miss out on finned tonight.

From the corner of my eyes, I can see her yapping on her phone, scrolling through her contact list, searching for a number. I listened in on her call, I heard her pleading and begging the person on the other end to come over to the castle for a visit. She had pleaded and pleaded for a good few minutes before the guy finally agreed to come over.

“Who the hell is that?" I asked her after the call, looking at her so curiously.

“He is my first cousin and he is also my best friend. He comes here to visit me sometimes but tonight, he is not coming to see me. Tonight he will be your date and you would use him to tease the king. With him by your side all night, trust me, King Dominic would never take his eyes off you.” She teased me jokingly, making me smile in appreciation. She is such a good friend. While other girls are trying so hard to be by his side as his mistress and queen, she is here trying to help me get him back. Despite the fact that she is just returning from the hospital, she is still looking out for me. How on earth did I get to be so lucky, will I be able to make him jealous enough to make him come chasing after me?
