“Hi bro, I’m happy to see you too,” she said crossing her arms and scowling at me.

I sighed and ran my hand through my hair, “sorry, come on in.”

“Thanks,” she beamed and walked through to the living room, flopping onto the couch.

“Man, I miss this house,” she groaned, stretching out on the couch.

“Tea or coffee?” I asked, walking into the kitchen and turning the kettle onto boil and getting out two mugs.

“Tea, I’ve already had two coffees today.”

“Mum and Dad fighting again?” I asked, getting out two mugs and throwing a tea bag in each.

“Yeah, sorta,” she sighed, rolling over and staring at me over the arm rest. “Where’s your mate? Do you have her locked up in the dungeon?”

I chuckled, “no.”

“So she ran away?”

I smirked again, “what do you take me for?”

“A big scary Alpha who would scare off anyone,” she admitted.

“I’m flattered Pet.”

She winced at me using her childhood nickname, “White with one sugar,” she said.

I added a sugar and a splash of milk to both cups and took them over to her, placing them on the coffee table, “she’s napping in my office.”

“Exhausting morning?” she said raising a quizzical eyebrow.

I flopped down on the other end of the couch and rest my legs on her lap, taking a sip at the steaming hot tea, instantly regretting it as it burnt my tongue. “I have no idea what you’re on about.”

“Rumour has it, the Luna appeared at warrior training.”

“Oh yes, what else has the rumour mill being churning out?”

“Quite a few things actually.”

“Oh? Do share with the class.”

“We’ll, the first one is that you’re both now fully mated. Beautiful mark,” she said raising her mug and nodded at my neck where Alice’s mark tingled on my skin.

“That’s an obvious truth,” I nodded. “What else?”

“You couldn’t take your eyes off her the whole time.”

I nodded, “three out of three so far.”

“And that she’s quite the little warrior, holding her own against the Beta.”

“Are they rumours if they’re true?” I asked.

“I guess not, with that confirmation,” she paused and looked down at her cup of tea, “Father isn’t happy you didn’t tell him about the potential uprising in the South.”

“Well, it’s a good thing he’s not Alpha then,” I shrugged.

“If you don’t want to talk to me, you should at least talk to him. He’s worried you’ll be too forgiving to the conspirators.”

“It’s complicated Pet, I don’t know the depth of the rot.”

“So it’s serious then?”

“Sadly, but my current priority is ensuring the safety of my mate, and the pack.”

Patricia opened her mouth “End of topic Pet,” I said cutting her off, “But I should go talk to dad, it’s probably why him and mum are fighting.”

“More than likely.”

“I don’t really want to leave Alice though, our relationship is still new and I admit I am still very possessive.”

“What if I keep her company and you come and collect her and give me the all clear to go home once the fire’s been put out?”

I looked at my little sister, she was strong, but I wasn’t sure if my wolf would be comfortable leaving her. “What did you have in mind?” I asked.

“I could show her around the town, slowly mingle her in with the pack before she’s officially introduced as Luna. You guys are mates, so no one would dare touch her, well, they might grove at her feet, but you get what I mean.”

“I dunno, Pet.”

A tingle ran down my spine and I turned to look at the door, “hey hon, you remember my sister, Patricia.”

“Of course, how could I forget.”

“Well he does have you locked away in his fortress, how could she forget one of the few faces she has met,” Patricia said jumping up and giving Alice a hug. “What do you think, I assume you heard our conversation, want to see the town?”
