With a grin, Finnegan knew that Bernice's mood had improved.

He then held her a little tighter and said, "I didn't actually say anything to your mom. She must be longing to hold her grandchild. So, you should move in with us. We can't let our parents down!"

Bernice huffed. "Dream on! Don't even think about it before we're married."

"Darling, but that's not what you said at the beginning."

"What did I say then?"

With a feigned pitiful expression, Finnegan said, "You initially mentioned that we should at least get engaged, didn't you? Now that we are engaged, why has it suddenly turned into marriage?" Bernice indeed remembered saying those words herself.
