Chapter 58 

Mary called Lucas the next morning and told him that his maternal grandparents, uncle, and aunt had invited him and Annabelle to visit their house tomorrow night. 

Lucas did not hesitate for too long. It was reasonable for his maternal grandparents, uncle, and aunt to wish to meet his wife 

After hanging up the phone. Lucas asked his assistant to prepare some gifts and sent a message to Annabelle to let her he mentally prepared. Then, he started working without any distractions. 

Grandparents? Uncle and aunt? 

Annabelle immediately thought of Irving, who was cheerful and happy. The Johnson family must be easy to get along with to be able to nurture someone like Irving 

With that thought, Annabelle stopped worrying about it. She tidied up the bedroom and study room. It was almost ten after she was done, and she began to prepare lunch. 

Lucas came back for lunch and an hour’s rest before going to the office again. 

When Braxton called, Lucas had just left. Annabelle was still taking an afternoon nap. 

When she saw the caller ID, Annabelle had mixed feelings. 

In the past, Braxton doted on her and held her in the palm of his hand. But after Ashley returned, her mother’s attitude toward Annabelle changed drastically. As for Braxton, it was as if he had become transparent. He did not care about their attitude, be it good or bad. It was as if it had nothing to

“Dad, you are finally willing to call me?”

“Why? Are you still angry with me? I have been busy with company matters and don’t have time to pay attention to what’s happening at home. How is it? Are you used to living with the Walker family?” 

“It’s alright!” Annabelle wiped her tears and said softly. The Walker family was very good to her. Even Elizabeth, who disliked her the most, wanted to 

be her business partner 

“That’s good!” Braxton said happily. Then, he let out a long sigh. “I haven’t seen you in a long time. Can you have dinner with me tonight?” 

Of course, she could! Annabelle almost replied without hesitation. However, at the critical moment, she remembered what Lucas had told her and quickly said apologetically. “I might not be able to do it tonight!” 

“What’s wrong? Are you angry with me? So you are not willing to join me for dinner?” Braxton’s tone sank when he heard that 

Annabelle shook her head repeatedly Then, she realized that they were on the phone. Braxton could not see her shaking her head. She quickly explained, “No, dad. I’m going to visit Lucas‘ grandparents, uncle, and aunt tonight. This was agreed this morning!” 

“I see!” The voice on the other end of the phone softened immediately. Braxton said very magnanimously, “All right then. Be obedient when you get there. Don’t be wipful!” 

“I’m not a three year old child!” Annabelle rebuked. “How can I be willful?” 

“In my eyes you are still a child?” Braxton said with a smile. 

When Armabelle heard that, her heart was filled with warmth. As expected, her father still doted on her. Her mother must be the samel it was just that her mother had yet to find the balance between her and Ashley Annabelle thought that one day, her mother would return to how she originally was. 

“Then let’s have lunch together tomorrow!” Braxton said with a smile 

Annabelle nodded and answered seriously 

After hanging up the phone, if it was not for her round stomach, Annabelle would roll all over the bed. That was great! 

She wanted to tell Nathan that news! She wanted him not to worry about her. However, when she saw the time on her phone, Annabelle obediently
