Chapter 56 

After the meal, considering that Annabelle was pregnant, Lucas did not plan for more activities. He had to bring Annabelle home. The others could decide if they would like to continue or go home. 

When they walked out of the door, they realized that it was snowing heavily outside. 

After coming out of the warm room, all the women quivered at the same time. Lucas noticed that his wife was shivering. Therefore, he immediately wrapped his coat around Annabelle. 

“I’m not cold!” Annabelle was standing very close to Lucas and could almost touch his chest. Lucas‘ sweater was soft and had a faint fragrance. It was the smell of the detergent she had chosen. It smelled very good. 

Although Annabelle said that she was not cold, she did not take off the coat and return it to Lucas. In the past, she had often seen similar scenes on television. She had also wondered that if she was in a relationship, would her boyfriend do the same thing? It looked silly, but when it happened to her, she was moved!

Annabelle quietly lowered her heels and head. Just as she was thinking about how to naturally shift the others‘ attention away from what happened just now, Lucas put his hand on her head. Before Annabelle could react, Lucas pressed her head against his broad chest. 

Lucas held the back of Annabelle’s head with one hand as he glanced at the others who were dumbfounded. He said calmly, “Go and do what you want to do! We’re going home!” 

“What? Oh, right!” Josh was in a daze for a long time before he reacted and hurriedly replied. 

Irving and Howard were about the same. Indeed, they were surprised! No wonder Lucas would fall for Annabelle so easily. So, Lucas liked this kind of interaction? 

However, Yolanda could not regain her composure no matter what. She watched helplessly as Lucas carried Annabelle into the car

Seeing how Harold behaved, Elizabeth couldn’t help but snort coldly. She thought, “Get married? You can stay single for the rest of your life! 

Then, she walked out. After taking two steps, she raised her hand and waved at them with her back facing them. “I’ll go home first. You guys can do whatever you want!” 

“No! Let’s have a drink together!” Josh said to her. 

“No, I still have something to do!” Elizabeth did not stop walking and said without turning her head. She was not joking about opening a florist. Her sister–in–law had given her so much money. Although it was taken away by Lucas, Annabelle did give the money to her. She did not want to disappoint Annabelle, who frusted her. Therefore, she had to open the florist! 

She thought, “You guys can go and drink whatever you want!” 

Besides, even if she had nothing serious to do, she wouldn’t have drinks with Yolanda who was sinister. She was afraid that Yolanda would hurt her after she got drunk! 

She was overthinking. Yolanda did not like her. In fact, she did not only dislike Elizabeth but all the younger girls in their families. When no other girl was born, she was the only girl. She was pampered by everyone. Not only the boys but also their parents treated her like a princess. However, with the birth of other girls, her unique status was gone! Every family now had a little princess, so who was willing to pamper the daughters of other families? The first time she had such a bad experience was when Elizabeth was born. In the past, when she went to the Walker family, everyone would hug her and play with her. That day, when she found out that Walkers‘ babies had just returned from the hospital, she went to take a look. She even brought her favorite lollipop over for the baby girl!
