“Back to the topic, where is the girl currently living?” asked Skylar.

“At one of her friends,” she said.

“So it’s clear that a friend could take her and we can live in peace,” said Justin. Aria looks at her angrily.

“She can’t live with him because he is a River-stone,” she said while clenching her teeth.

“What? But this is not safe, a Canis lupus has a bad history with River-stones, you know what they did to Alpha” said Jace.

“I am afraid, she is in danger,” said Skylar.

“What kind of warriors we are, if we cannot help someone in need?” asked Aria while looking at Kyden. Kyden and Skylar were leaders of the group. He took a deep breath.

“Fine, we can have her here, but you guys have to promise no one is going to tell this to someone at home until we figure this out,” he said while raising his hands.

“Fine, but don’t regret that,” said Justin, finally putting down his weapon.

“Justin, I know you are worried about the pack, about us, I know you but we have to work together to be saved,” said Skylar while putting her hand over his shoulder. He nods and turns.

“Where are you going?” asked Harper.

“I am going to gather some information about this new girl,” he said.

“So it’s done, we are going to keep her,” said Skylar.

“Thanks, guys, that means a lot,” said Aria and turned.

“Why do you want to keep her?” asked Skylar. She turned. Both Kyden and Skylar looked at her deeply as if she was going through her soul.

“I, I don’t know,” she said while not looking at them.

“We know you since you were in your diapers Aria, so it won’t work on us,” said Skylar.

“I want to help her because she is Canis Lupus,” she said and turned. She left before they could ask more.

“What on the earth is she up to?” asked Harper.

“Seems like our toughest warrior has been hit by soft nerve,” said Kyden.

“I am afraid about this new girl, how come she is Canis Lupus, Kyden,” she asked. He took a deep breath.

“You have to be strong Hazel,” said Caleb.

“I can’t. I feel a part of me is broken, I have spent my childhood with abuses, and lived my life as miserable as the girl from the slum. When I lived there, I was kept away from the outer world, I became used to it until they tried to break my soul completely, I ran away and met new people for the first time I found family. I thought the abuse was over. I believed what they said and that they would never leave my side. I never knew about your world, your fantasy world I believed about this whole mating thing, I believed what they said about mates that no matter what a mate cannot betray their other one, but I felt betrayal when he kissed her, I felt it when he tried to do that voodoo whatever he was doing, I felt pain, anger. But now I want to leave, I want to go as far as I could Caleb, I don’t want to live here” she said while looking out of the window.

“I never felt the connection with anyone before Hazel but I feel this connection with you, I feel like you are family Hazel, I don’t why, it was about that voice before but now it is about you and our connection,” he said while hugging her slightly.

“Why are you doing this much for me Caleb?” she asked while looking up into his green eyes.

“I don’t Hazel, I don’t know, but I will not let you go anywhere and I will protect you with my life, we will face this together,” he said while looking inside her eyes.

“I feel this connection too Caleb,” she said.

His phone rang, and he fetch it from the nearby table. He was expressionless.

“It’s Willow, she is asking me,” he said.

“The girl who healed me?” she asked.

“Yeah that’s my sister,” he said without looking at her.

“Caleb?” She called his name.

“Why is she so cold?” she asked.

“I don’t know if everyone in River-stone is cold,” he said.

“You too?” she asked again.

“I don’t know,” he said without any expression.

“Do you need something?” he asked and turned towards the kitchen.

“No, I am fine,” she said shortly. He turned towards her.

“You have not eaten since morning, you will make yourself sick,” he said.

“I am Caleb, its like things are not on point,” she said in a low voice.

“Listen, if you are not going to take good care of yourself, how you would figure everything out?” he asked.

“I don’t know what’s going on, this whole mate thing is hurting me, Caleb,” she said while putting her hand on her heart.

“I don’t want to go there,” Hazel said, they were going to school.

“Listen, Hazel, I won’t be around you at the school and I would have to keep it low because I have already hit the upcoming Alpha’s boyfriend and I don’t want they to become suspicious of us but I will be watching you, you have to be strong,” he said while holding her shoulders, she nods.

They left for school as strangers. When she entered the school, she felt as if everyone was talking about her. She tried to ignore them and went toward the class. The weavers were sitting over their usual seats, there was something different about them. They were all looking at her with pity. She sat with Fred but he hesitantly got up and sat at the last bench. She looked at him but he ignored her. Ethan got up and sat with her. There were tears in her eyes.

“Sorry about Fred, he is only supporting his mate,” he said in a whisper.

“What I did do?” she asked while looking into his eyes. He looked at her with pity in his eyes.

“They say you bewitched Eden, so you could be his mate,” he said in a whisper. Everyone in the class was looking at her.

“It’s wrong Ethan, I, I did not,” she said with a broken heart. He did not reply.

“So you believe them?” she asked. He remained quiet. She looked ahead at the whiteboard when he entered the class with his “Girlfriend”, he looked at her but ignored her. He was holding Patricia’s waist. She felt a strange jolt of jealousy.

“No Clair, You can’t come out, we can’t show our eyes,” she said to her wolf.

Eden walked towards his usual bench and it seemed like Patricia came into the class to show everyone he is her boyfriend.

She walks slowly towards the desk where Ethan and Hazel were sitting and stops nearby. Hazel looked up at her; there was an evil smile on her face.

“Listen, you traitor, I heard you have betrayed the North-pole pack and they have kicked you out, haven’t they? Today Alpha Julius will come here and kick you out of this school so you don’t have any pack now so technically you are the damn rogue. if you were my pack member I would have long killed you, but as rogues are spreading terror, so I don’t want a war yet, you can leave on your own, or else you will be executed by council members and stay away from my mate, I know what you did,” she said while putting one hand over the desk. She was wearing a pink mini skirt with yellow high heels making her booty even more exposed.

“Stay away from my mate, my mate, my mate, my mate” her words and voice were echoing inside her head, she felt a jolt of possessiveness and pain. It was like she was about to explode, everyone around her was disappearing she could see her and the bitch, Patricia, with anger she was unable to determine what and when she was doing. She slapped Patricia over her face this much harder that she felt her hand gone numb. Patricia fell over the desk where Eden was sitting. All the weavers stood up from their desks.

Eden walked ahead and raised his hand to hit Hazel “How dare you hit her” he screamed, she had never seen him screaming over her like this before she felt her heart stop but someone has grabbed his hand in mid-air.

It was a tall guy who had a poker expression, purple eyes, and dark black hair. He looked at Eden with disgust. He let go of his hand with anger.

“Who are you?” asked Eden angrily.

“You don’t need to ask me who I am, but a lot can tell who you are,” he said bitterly.

“You are defending her, she betrayed a pack and she tried to steal mine mate as well, you are defending her? The council will sue you and execute you with her,” Patricia said with a bitter expression.

“She is a rogue anyhow,” said Eden bitterly.

“She is not a rogue, she is my pack member, my race member,” he said strongly.

“What puny pack do you belong to? You are talking to Alpha of the entire white werewolf race,” Patricia said while putting her hands on her waist.

“Alpha of the entire werewolf race?” he said sarcastically and smiled.

“I am the grandson of Beta of Floroscura pack, I am Canis Lupus, and for your kind information your goodie council has asked us to deal with your mess, your so-called rogues,” he said air quoting, and the whole class started muttering.

“He is Canis lupus? We are seeing Canis lupus,” said a student.

“We are sitting amongst a Canis Lupus,” said a girl.

“I read about them, they are much stronger than any Alpha,” said a red-haired girl. He crossed his arms around his chest and did not break his eye contact with Eden.

“Wait, she is Canis Lupus as well?” said a girl, pointing at Hazel.

“Any questions?” he asked Patricia. Eden left the class followed by Ethan and Patricia.

He sat on the desk where Hazel was sitting. She was looking at the door from where Eden left.

“Will you sit or follow the jerk?” he said without looking at her. She sat with him.

“Why do you say that we are pack members?” she asked him.

“Should I let them bully you?” he said while staring at the board. She remained quiet.

“He is a member of mum’s pack,” she thought.

Aria entered the class and looked at Hazel, who looked tense. Aria walked towards their desk and sat on the desk where minutes ago Eden was sitting.

“Well, Hi Hazel, recognizes me?” she asked, smiling.

“Yeah, Aria, I recognize you,” she said. Aria smiled in return.

“Seems like you must have met my Jerkiest, cousin,” she said while pointing at the boy.

“He is your cousin?” asked Hazel astonished,

“Yeah, he is my cousin named Justin,” she said.

The Professor was talking about something they were not paying proper attention to.

“Hmm, have you changed your mind dear cousin?” asked Aria.

“What do you mean by that?” he asked, confused.

They were talking through mind-link.

“Well, you know, first you were against letting her in just in the morning and now you have just protected her? Strange isn’t it?” She said,

“I did what I should and I have gathered some information about this girl, she is no harm, she has been rescued by North-pole months ago,” he said.

“Whoa, pretty quick service,” she said.

Hazel was absent-minded while listening to the professor. He looked at her from the corner of his eyes. She seems so upset.

He was sitting in the cafeteria and thinking about further plans.

“I want to help, hey could you please show me the way,” he said. He wanted to talk to the woman who had been showing ways in his head since childhood but she had not talked to her for days.

“Well, I don’t know how it is to have a wolf because I have not talked to mine since the beginning, but please show me the way,” he said.

“Caleb?” someone had called his name, he turned, it was his twin Willow.

“What you are doing I know and it is not good,” she said.

“What am I doing?” he asked expressionlessly.

She narrowed her eyes. “Don’t expect any help from me,” she said and walked towards the lockers.
