Chapter No 24 Greatest loses

“This is how we reclaimed our pack back,” said Mateo.

“Riverstone, they did not help our pack, despite us being the nearest pack,” said Mateo.

“We lost our parents, because of their betrayal,” said Wanda.

“But how did you get your Alpha claim?” asked Althea.

“Well, I was the only rightful heir of the family left at that moment,” he said.

“And where did Paul go?” she shrugged.

“We don’t know, we have not seen him since that day,” said Wanda.

“But we put an extra cover on the pack, we know he is keeping an eye on us,” said Luna.

“Who was he?” she asked.

“No answer, because there are no traces of Paul, maybe a rogue,” said Wanda.

She was sitting on the couch and reading some ancient rare book about Canis Lupus Julius had given her when Wanda came holding a tray full of fruits.

“Seriously, Wanda? 10 minutes ago Grace forcefully made me drink an apple and banana shake and now here you come, I can’t eat this much” she whined.

“No whining, you have to eat this, you both need strength, the baby is a white wolf. Do you know how strong they are? No, I wonder, it is Canis lupus as well, the very first powerful hybrid” she said dramatically.

“Oh stop being so dramatic Wanda, I am not the first one who got pregnant,” Althea said, rolling her eyes.

“No complaints, finish it, you have to go for a walk after this,” said Grace who was holding little Eden in her arms.

“I wonder if my child will steal eyes after me?” Althea said while touching her stomach.

“Because the boy would be like his father, a complete jerk,” she said angrily.

7 months later

“You ready to know about the baby’s gender?” Wanda was very excited.

“Yeah I am ready to know, no matter what I will always love my child,” Althea said smiling.

“Althea, Wanda hurry up. I am waiting” Mateo screamed.

“Coming” screamed Wanda.

“Have you decided yet to talk to Jacob?” asked Althea.

“I am nervous,” said Wanda, blushing.

“Don’t worry, he is a good guy. I have already given you his number, dial his number,” she said smiling. Wanda smiled in return.

“Banning” it was sound like an expulsion.

“We are under attack,” said Alex through a mind link.

“Althea, go and hide” screamed Mateo.

“No, I can’t leave you guys like this,” she said, annoyed.

“Althea we have to keep the baby safe,” he said angrily.

Wanda took her inside the basement where the secret room was.

“Stay here everything will be all right,” Wanda said and left in a rush.

Althea was not feeling well.

“I can’t leave my friends like that, I have lost my family once but not now,” she said and ran out of the basement.

Everyone was fighting outside. She looked around Grace and Julius were fighting along with a very big black wolf. She had seen this wolf before; it was just like the one from whom Tyler had saved her.

Then she felt a very familiar scent, it was the scent she felt the day she was about to be attacked in a club in Riverstone. It was the same scent she felt when she arrived in the north pole pack. She felt her legs go numb. The black wolf who had the same scent was walking towards her. She shifts into her wolf to fight. She grabbed him by his neck.

Her year in the north pole pack has trained her to fight. She was fighting skillfully. She bit his leg.

“Mateo, it’s Althea” screamed Wanda through the mind link.

Mateo turned his face to look, it was a huge wolf fighting a black wolf, she seemed so powerful.

“She is pregnant, we should keep her out of it,” said Alex, annoyed.

“I did, she came here on her own,” said Wanda.

Meanwhile, they heard another expulsion and everything went dark, sinking into smoke.

After a while when the smoke disappeared, they all looked around, the rogues were still fighting, and the black wolf who was fighting with Althea was injured on the ground.

“Where is she?” screamed Mateo.

“Althea?” called out aloud Wanda.

Althea disappeared in thin air. Far from the ground, a wolf whines in pain. Mateo turned to look.

“Max no!” he screamed.

“Max my son” Grace screamed in pain and ran towards the wolf.

Max turned back to his human. Grace was crying hysterically. Julius was fighting the rogues with pack members. Wanda had run towards Grace and Max. Mateo was fighting a wolf. They have killed almost all the rogues, but few retreats. Mateo turned to the wolf that was fighting Althea before, but he also disappeared, he escaped.

“Paullllllllllllllll” he screamed in rage even Julius turned to look.

Julius ran towards Grace and Max. Max was injured. His chest was bleeding.

“No No my son, my muffin” Grace was crying.

“Why do you do that?” Wanda was crying. Mateo ran towards them.

“Max, we have to take him to the doctor,” he screamed.

“Max, why did you do that? Mommy could handle it” Grace held his little hand in her hands.

“Mommy he was attacking you and no one can hurt my mommy as long as I am here,” he said while kissing her hand.

“Max my sweet boy, my muffin” She held his hand and was crying.

“I love you, Mommy,” he said and took his final breath. Julius held Grace by her shoulder to comfort her.

“Julius our sweet boy, he, he is gone Julius” She was not letting Max go.

Mateo was biting his lips with anger.

“I promise you nephew I will not let him go,” he said while hugging his body. Wanda hugged him.

“My sweet boy Julius, he killed him, he killed him,” Grace said while hugging Julius.

“Althea is gone” Alex ran towards them and said in a whisper-like voice.

“What do you mean by she is gone? Have you checked?” he asked while getting up.

“I checked everywhere, it’s like she has disappeared,” Alex said disappointed.

“No this can’t be, first we lost Max, and now Althea,” said Grace, crying.

Wanda was crying while holding Max’s body.

“Alpha, I will find that mole and dig his head down the six feet,” said Mateo angrily and left.

A few days later

It was the funeral of a little boy, and every member of the pack was there. “Today is the funeral of our next Alpha, who unfortunately killed while saving his mother, our Luna, we will always remember him in our memories, his loss would never be forgotten” the priest was saying his words while Julius held Grace in his arms, he was trying to control her rage.

“Calm down honey, we will avenge our son,” he said in a whisper.

Wanda was staring at a large photo of Max, who was smiling at her. A tear fell from her eyes and she left.

She was walking towards the pack house. The packed house was behind the woods, she was going through the woods when someone grabbed her hand and took her with him inside the nearby cave.

His hand was over her mouth.

“Don’t scream, I won’t hurt you,” he said in a whisper.

She stopped struggling because Lupa, her wolf, was screaming in her mind “Mate, Mate, Mate”.

He let his hand off her mouth. She looked into his deep blue eyes.

“Jacob” she whispered.

“How do you know my name?” he asked, shocked.

“Althea had told me,” she said.

“You know that rogue,” he said while crossing his arms around his chest angrily.

“She is my friend, mate or not. I will kick you on the balls if you dare to bad mouth, my friend,” she said while looking into his eyes.

“Mate?” he said, shocked.

“Yeah we are mates, you know, don’t you?” she asked while opening her eyes in amazement.

“No I don’t” he snapped.

Her jaw dropped in amazement.

“My wolf told me that you were my mate when you came here last time,” she said angrily.

“Mine did not,” he shrugged.

She felt so humiliated.

“Forget it I should not try, I know Lupa, it’s hurting but I don’t want to end up like Althea, he is Tyler’s cousin, and breaking mates’ hearts is in their blood,” she said and turned to leave when he grabbed her hand and pulled her towards him. She collides with his strong chest. Touching her hair, and then her lips.

“My wolf did not tell me that we are mates, but I don’t know why I felt like we are meant to be together,” he whispered.

She felt her heart racing fast. “I want to talk to your wolf, give him control,” she said while looking into his eyes,

“I can’t, I am unable to talk to my wolf for months,” he shrugged.

“What?” she asked screaming.

“Do you have a wolf? Are you werewolves? Oh, moon goddess, did you pair me with a human?” she said while looking up.

“I am not human, I can’t talk to my wolf, yes I can shift but I don’t remember anything when I shift,” he said while punching the wall.

“You were best friends with Althea, why did you do this to her?” she asked him.

“She is a rogue,” he screamed.

“You never considered her a rogue before,” she said, angrily.

“I don’t know, it’s like something tells me to hate her,” he said.

Then he felt a strange pain inside his head. He fell and screamed.

“Mate,” she ran towards him and held his hand.

“Mate no please, please look at me” Lupa took control.

He turned into his wolf. But it was like his wolf was blank like a robot, he looked very dangerous.

“Jacob, Please don’t,” she said while shaking. He was walking toward her while clenching his teeth.

“Kill her, Kill her” something was screaming in his mind. He walked ahead to harm her but stopped. It was like he was fighting with himself.

He shifted back and his eyes were black. She cupped his face in her hand. Something was wrong with him.

“Jacob, look at me, it’s me your mate,” she said while looking into his eyes.

His eyes slowly started turning back to blue.

He chuckled.

“Well, I never thought this would go this easy, I mean at first I was only desperate to get one kingdom but look now we got more than three,” he said.

“I snatch what I want either willingly or unwillingly,” she said, smirking.

“Now what is the next move?” he asked.

“We have almost finished off that Canis Lupus from our way, now everything is going smoothly,” she said laughing.

“My mate, my dear mates, you got the brains of gods,” he said while hugging her.

She giggled.

“Now, Luna of River-stone pack is announcing that the pack will be protected by our law, the rogues are allowed in the pack, and only pure-blood werewolves will enter the pack. This is the absolute law of the pack,” she said and held Tyler’s arm.

An evil smile was on her face.
