Chapter No 10 Envious

“Hy, Althea, how is it going?” Asked Gena, who had just arrived at school and was now walking beside her.

“I am fine, how were things between you and Jacob during camping?” She asked while looking into her eyes mischievously. Gena blushed bright red.

“He is your first, isn’t he?” Althea asked. Gena nodded. Althea smiled.

“You are also the first girl in his life,” said Althea.

“So you are still a virgin,” asked Gena. Althea turned bright pink this time.

“So anyone in the pack you want to see?” Asked Gena mischievously.

Just then Tyler’s group had passed by them with their usual walking style, and attitude poster but today Tyler was not with them. She had not seen him since her encounter with him at the school entrance. It’s been three days. He did not come to school for three days. She felt a strange emptiness.

“What am I thinking? What if he is not here?” she thought, annoyed.

“Althea?” Screamed out, Gena. She was startled.

“What have you been thinking?” She asked.

“Nothing, just thinking about my homework” she lied. Gena gives her a doubtful sigh.

“No wonder why you are so single,” she said while taking a deep breath. Althea smiled.

“My dear friend, who is an idiot in the pack? Who is going to date a rogue and a very different kind of rogue who cannot shift and most precisely have purple eyes?” Althea shrugged.

She laughed and then both girls moved forward.

A tan tall guy was staring at Althea’s back and smiled.

After attending the lecture she went outside. Gena went home soon. Her mother was visiting her today. Her parents were both Riverstone pack doctors, one of the best healers; she was living in the other apartment because she wanted to recognize herself on her own.

Jacob was again out of town with his grandparents, who were so sick. She grabbed her favorite book Dear John by Nicholas Sparks, she loved to read tragedies. She was feeling the same heat and pain again because the lunar cycle was near and she had to shift.

After grabbing the book from her locker she turned when she got collapsed with someone, and the book fell from her hands. She bends to pick it up when someone bends also with her. She lifts her face to look. It was some guy she never had seen before, he was tan and had emerald eyes and black hair. She gives him a deep sigh.

“I am breathtaking, aren’t I?” He said in a deep voice. She felt embarrassed. She got up while taking the book from his hand.

“I am sorry I didn’t see you,” she said and turned to leave.

“Listen, I wanted to talk” he calls out from behind.

She was shocked because no one in the pack had ever talked to her this politely, and he was a stranger to her, she can bet that he is not from this pack, but somehow she felt she had seen him somewhere. She turned, and he was smiling at her. She gives him a sigh like she was asking him what he wants to talk about.

“I am Ellis. I am new to this school, I don’t know where the class is. Can you guide me?” He asked while handing her his schedule. She looked upon the parchment.

“Oh we are classmates, you got almost every class with me but except the training class. The next class is after the lunch break,” she said smiling.

“That’s good,” he said, smiling. Althea gives him a strange sigh.

“I mean, you can guide me then,” he said smiling.

“Well as I know members of other packs are not allowed in the river-stone pack, how come you are here?” She asked curiously.

“Well I am from the pack of ex-Luna’s brother, I am his grandson. So it makes me family” he said smiling.

“Oh so you are Jacob’s cousin,” she said happily.

“Do you know him?” He asked.

“Yeah he is my best friend,” she said smiling.

“Oh that’s great he is a close friend of mine, the only cousin who is close to me other than mighty Tyler,” he said Tyler’s name dramatically. She laughed.

“So are you friends with Tyler too?” He asked his name and made her heartbeat strangely fast.

“No, we don’t get along,” she said, annoyed.

“Whoa Whoa seems like our Alpha had made enemies,” he said laughing. Althea rolled her eyes.

“Where were you going by the way?” He asked, smiling.

“As it was lunch break and I was not feeling hungry so I was going to the library.” She said smiling.

“But I am feeling hungry. If you don’t mind, can you join me for lunch? I hate to eat alone” he requests. She first felt hesitant but later she got agree

“Fine let’s go”.

“So what was the reason to come here in the first place?” She asked him while eating French fries.

He was sitting on the chair in front of her, he had placed his one arm over the table, and on the other hand, he was eating fries. He leaned a bit forward.

“Well, I was mischievous at my previous school, too bad for following Alpha’s rule as I am upcoming Alpha, but I was not taking anything seriously so my father had sent me here to Uncle Peter to teach me,” he said laughing.

“If he could teach someone Tyler had become a saint man on the planet,” she thought.

“Can you tell me about yourself?” He asked. She was about to say something when someone abruptly interrupted her.

“Well she is pretty rogue who loves to fuck with everyone who has power,” those words made her furious.

Ellis’ expression was changed from shock to anger. He turned to look at who it was. It was a short, blond girl. Who was wearing annoyingly pink matching? Everyone in the Café was now alert and watching over the place they were sitting on.

At the sight of Julia, his expression changed furthermore angry. She walked crossing her legs like a catwalk style towards him.

“Hello Ellis, Welcome to Riverstone” she was talking like she was Luna of the pack. Althea moved her eyes to look if Tyler was with her but he was not.

“Long time no see, I last saw you I went to your pack during vacations,” she said apathetically.

Julia had put her hand over his shoulder “You have grown hot,” she said in a very whisper-like voice.

Ellis has crossed his arm around his chest with a poker face. Now Althea remembers why he is being so familiar to her she can resemble him with Tyler with his poker face expressions. He had mixed features like Jacob and Tyler. After not getting answers Julia shifts her eyes towards Althea.

“What are you doing with this rogue? You should avoid her, no one talks to her in the pack as she is a rogue,” she said with an evil smirk.

“What do you mean by she is….” He said startled but Althea had gone out of Café with tears in her eyes. He turned but she was not there.

“Seems like she has a bit of self-respect,” said a girl behind Julia laughing. Ellis gives her a death stare and an angry sigh to Julia and leaves the café.

She never felt this much humiliation. Julia had always bullied her before every pack member but this time she had bullied her in front of a stranger. She was walking fast. The tears were in her eyes but most precisely she was feeling the pain and heat that made her eyes more wet.

She was unable to see anything. She was just running while weeping her tears. Her body temperature was so high. It was like she was having an urge to shift.

She does not want to cause trouble for her. She was running to get out of school when she collapsed with someone. It was Tyler. She lifted her face. He was about to say something but stopped when he saw her crying.

Her facial expressions were painful and her purple eyes were teary. He held her shoulders.

“Let go of me Tyler,” she said in a very painful voice. She let herself free from him and ran. He was staring at her back. He looked forward when he saw Ellis.

Ellis walked towards him and shook hands.

“Welcome to Riverstone pack Ellis,” he said smiling. Ellis smiled in return.

“What happened? Why were you so in a rush?” He asked.

“Yeah, have you seen that girl?” He asked worriedly.

“Which girl?” Asked Tyler confused.

“Blond and purple eyes,” he said while looking at the door.

“What about her?” Tyler’s expressions were gone stone, he asked while crossing his arms.

“Julia has bullied her and she was talking stupid, calling her a rogue and she left. I did not ask her name. We had a class ahead. Did you know her?” He asked curiously.

“She is Althea,” said Tyler emotionless.

“Why does Julia call her a rogue?” He asked curiously.

“It’s a long story but in short she was not born in the pack she was some rogue child who was found by Beta and his mate in the woods and they adopted her, she has the title of royalty due to beta but she is still rogue,” he said.

Ellis was not expecting this kind of story, he felt sympathy for her.

“Can you tell me where she lives?” He asked.

“Why on earth you are asking about her?” this time Tyler’s tone was a bit angry. Possessiveness could be felt in his tone.

“Whoa, what is it, brother? It’s like you are going to shift right now, you are so protective of her” Ellis said laughing but Tyler’s expression did not change.

“I am not,” he snapped.

The Weekend was good. Jacob had returned from the fellow pack. It was Monday morning she was going to a café with Jacob and Gena.

Ellis was sitting with Tyler and his group when he saw her coming. He got up and walked towards her.

“Hey,” he said and Althea turned. She was surprised to see him, she thought after he knew she was a rogue he would not talk to her.

“Hey!” She said smiling. He gives thumbs up to Jacob, who smiles in return.

“Sorry brother I could not drop you at school in the morning, I had to go and pick up my girlfriend,” he said smiling.

“Naa, it’s okay Tyler dropped me off today and I am buying a car this evening,” he said smiling. She looked back at the table where Tyler was sitting, he was looking at her, and he had the same poker expression.

After a while his phone rang he picked it up and the group left the café. She took a deep breath.

“Hey Althea, I am sorry about the other day, Julia has been an annoying thing since childhood,” he said while looking into her eyes.

“It’s okay now I am adapting to these things,” she said with a faded smile. He took a deep breath.

“Jacob, Are you free in the evening?” He asked Jacob who was discussing something with Gena.

“Well brother I….” he said sheepishly while looking at Gena. Althea laughed.

“You guys are going to date again?” She asked. Gena nodded.

“I want to go to buy a car but the territory is new to me,” said Ellis.

“Althea will go with you,” said Gena suddenly.

Althea was startled. Althea had given her an angry sigh.

“Okay fine Althea, here is my number ring me so that I can save your number,” he said with a serious expression. She took the number hesitantly. She dialed his number. He saved the number.

“Okay I will call you at 5 pm,” he said looking into her purple eyes. He left. Althea was staring at his strong back.

“Gena! What have you done?” She asked Gena angrily.

“What? I am just a little helping here” she said mischievously.

“This is not helping,” she said while crossing her arms.

“Remember what we were talking about at the weekend? Why didn’t you get a date? He is hot, I am just putting some peppermint in hot water cattle” she said while winking.

“Wait what? You are putting Althea with Ellis?” Asked Jacob shocked.

“Yeah, I mean Althea is hot, she deserves a date and every man in the pack seems blind, so here comes an Angel to rescue her. What do you think, Althea?” She asked.

“Pathetic,” Althea said and left.

“What do you think?” She asked Jacob.

“Gross,” he said and took the pizza bite. Gena rolled her eyes.

“No wonder you guys are best friends,” she said in disappointment.
