Jason ordered, “Drew, take Bryce here for a nice steamy bath, and let him have a bit of heavenly fun.”
Bryce panicked, “Bro, are you out of your mind? I’m still a virgin!”
Drew said with a hint of amusement, “Bryce, after you.”
“Jason…”
Bryce was led away by Drew, and Estrella, stifling a yawn, told Jason, “Alright, Mr. Jason, since everything’s sorted, you can see yourself out.”
Instead of leaving, Jason pulled Estrella close, “You think you can hide your guy from me and get off that easy?”
Estrella poked at his chest in disagreement, “Ask yourself, is Bryce neves?”

Jason found himself at a loss for words. After a moment of silence, he finally said, “Let’s not talk about Bryce. Let’s settle tonight’s score.”
Estrella stood up from his embrace, laughing, “You mean for bringing another woman t the gala?”
Knowing he was in the wrong, Jason stood as well, “Time for a bath and bed.”

Estrella wasn’t having it, grabbing his arm, “Hold on. We haven’t settled the score for me dismissing you earlier.”
Since Jason was on shaky ground there too, he rubbed his temples and said, “Estrella, know when to quit.”
“I never let anyone take advantage of me, Mr. Jason. If there are any unsettled scores…”
Before Estrella could finish, Jason turned around, pulled her into his arms, and planted a kiss on her lips. Whenever he couldn’t win an argument with Estrella, Jason would kiss
her.
Estrella pushed him away, a burst of rage following, “Jason, you’ve got some nerve! Making a scene here late at night and then trying to take advantage of me? You’re too used to getting your way!”
“Keep your dirty hands to yourself.” She pushed him out the door, throwing his jacket after him, “Go find someone else to bug. Just stay away from me.”
Jason snapped as well, “Estrella.”

“Get lost!” With that, she slammed the door on him, leaving him fuming outside.
Damn it, he thought, twenty-six years old and he’d never been treated like this. “Estrella, open the damn door.”
She ignored him.
“Estrella.”
Still no response..
After several shouts, Jason finally explained, “Last time I tried to sleep with you but you refused, so I was trying to tick you off tonight.”
Meanwhile, Estrella had already retreated to her bedroom. It was her house, and she’d kick o
whoever she wanted.
After yelling to no avail, Jason eventually kicked the door in frustration and muttered, “Such a temper.”
“Sir, we’ve had complaints of disturbance and breaking and entering,” announced the community security as Jason withdrew his foot.
Damn you, Estrella, he thought, conceding defeat.
With Bryce gone and Jason finally leaving, Estrella’s world returned to peace, and after a refreshing bath, she collapsed into bed and was soon fast asleep.
The next morning, Estrella was rudely awakened by a relentless series of calls. She groggily fumbled for her phone beneath her pillow, her eyes still closed. “Who is it?” she mumbled.
On the other end, Kristin’s voice crackled with urgency, “Estrella, Grandpa is throwing a fit. You need to get yourself over to the family estate, pronto.”
Estrella indulged in a few more moments of shut-eye before replying with a languid, “Okay,
got it.”
“Don’t you be dawdling in bed, young lady. Get yourself over here,” Kristin admonished before muttering to herself, “These kids nowadays, not a single one that doesn’t give me headaches.”
Estrella simply listened as Kristin vented her frustration.
After hanging up, Estrella reluctantly peeled herself from the comfort of her bed. As she freshened up, Jesse updated her. Apparently, Janie had just held a press conference claiming the previous night’s scandal was a big misunderstanding, and she’d been set up. Regardless, the Lamont family had pulled out of the Digital Springs project. The family’s stocks had evaporated overnight, erasing all the recent gains and then some, costing

By the time Estrella pulled up to the Nelson estate in her Audi, the senior members of the family were already assembled. Jason and Bryce had also made an appearance.
Bryce looked particularly rough around the edges, with dark circles that could rival a panda’s. Had Jason done a number on him? Had he taken a leaf out of Estrella’s book and saddled Bryce with a bevy of beauties?
